Restaurant du Beau Rivage
Luc-Sur-Mer
30/04/2026: A wonderful discovery, both in terms of the hotel and the restaurant.
I recommend booking a room with a sea view, which is very close to the hotel.
While parking isn't the most convenient, the major advantage is that it's free all around the hotel and year-round in Luc-sur-Mer.
26/04/2026: Thank you to the Beau Rivage Hotel for the warm welcome and excellent service.
And let's not forget the restaurant where I had a wonderful meal!
The cyclist 🙂

La Paillote
Luc-Sur-Mer
04/06/2026: Disappointed I can't give you a 0... That's what best represents you (I'm speaking particularly to you, madam waitress, who will recognize yourself without any problem)!
Okay, let's start with the lady's friendliness... which only made us want to leave immediately after every interaction!
Fortunately, we were greeted by a charming young man who was initially very friendly – the only positive point of this experience.
But as soon as the service began... the scene changed. And there, we were met by the worst waitress I have ever seen. I almost never write negative reviews, precisely so as not to ruin a restaurant. Even when it's not perfect, I always try to be constructive. But not this time. Absolutely not. I'm not going to hold back.
Let's start with the wait time: about 45 minutes. Well, that's still acceptable. But dishes served 5 to 10 minutes apart…
And the lady's friendliness… apparently optional! Haughty, curt, unpleasant in every response. Honestly, you should change professions.
A salad was served to someone at the table… unwashed, with dirt on it. Yes, it can happen. But the excuse? Easier to blame the greengrocer who, presumably, is responsible for washing them in your kitchens.
A salad that reflects your character!
You can't even manage that…
Then—and this is really something—a simple question asked by my father (before I even arrived at the table, still on my way to join them): "Are any of your meats halal?" A legitimate question, for simple reasons: allergies for some, dietary preferences for others (three-quarters of the table opted for vegetarian or pescatarian options without you asking a single question). But clearly, asking this question bothered you deeply. I sincerely hope no one ever asks you about allergens, otherwise, good luck…
Moving on.
A kebab wrap with cold fries after a 40-minute wait. Of course, the fries aren't hot anymore when the dishes arrive late…
I've only mentioned two dishes, and we're already at the pinnacle of excellence.
And let's talk about my pasta.
You have an excellent Italian restaurant right next door. Honestly, go there and take some cooking AND service lessons.
Your pasta? 0… 0 and another 0. I've always been grateful for what's on my plate, and that's precisely why I don't throw away or waste food… but your vegan pasta…
No flavor, overcooked, watery, a bland tomato sauce, a ratatouille best forgotten, and seasoning as nonexistent as your friendliness!
And the best for last.
The salad, covered in dirt, sent back to the kitchen, which left the customer feeling unsatisfied… was still charged 😅
And offering a ham crepe to someone who doesn't eat pork… potentially excellent, I have no doubt, and thank you for kindly offering it, but you can understand why she unfortunately declined.
If you didn't like our profile from the moment we walked in, you could have simply refused. We wouldn't have stayed, believe me.
I mean it: you are the worst waitress I have ever seen in my life, in any restaurant and in any country.
I sincerely pity your customers… and your colleagues.
Edit: Given your response, which is only matched by your incompetence, your inability to admit your mistakes, and your undeniable bad faith, I will stop wasting any more time with you and recommend that anyone reading this comment choose a different establishment for a similar experience. Your inability to acknowledge even the slightest shortcoming speaks volumes about the regard you have for your customers. I leave you to your certainties.
16/05/2026: If I could give zero stars, I would.
A disastrous experience from beginning to end, and above all, a level of unprofessionalism I've never seen in a restaurant before.
We waited over 30 minutes before being served, without even a carafe of water during the wait. The dishes arrived haphazardly, with more than 10 minutes between some, which is unacceptable when you're eating with others.
First problem: cold fries.
Second problem: a vegan dish of pasta with no sauce, no seasoning—literally just plain pasta.
But the worst part was the dish served with dirt in the salad.
The customer immediately pointed it out to the waitress, who herself noticed the dirt before taking the plate back to the kitchen. Yet, later, in front of her boss, she denied having seen it. No apology, no professional reaction, no gesture of goodwill. The only justification given was: "The greengrocer didn't wash the salad properly."
And according to them, we were at fault because the customer refused the replacement. That's completely absurd. When a dish is served dirty and no apology is offered, it's normal to lose confidence and not want to eat there again.
The owner even went so far as to call us "difficult customers" because we had asked for a change to two dishes. Except he neglected to mention that one of the dishes on the menu—a salmon cream soup—was ultimately unavailable because they were out of salmon. Before blaming the customers, they should start by updating the menu. And to make things easier for them, we simply asked for prawns to replace the missing salmon. This problem was entirely the restaurant's fault, not ours. His only "defense" was to claim we were "the only customers" complaining about a poorly washed salad... as if we'd invented the presence of dirt in the dish just for kicks. Frankly, we have better things to do than make pointless complaints in a restaurant during our vacation. I mostly got the impression he was trying to make us look like cheapskates or dishonest customers, whereas at the Italian restaurant next door, just the day before, we left a €10 tip because the service was so pleasant. So the problem clearly doesn't lie with the customers.
When it came time to pay, despite a dish that wasn't eaten because it was inedible, he absolutely refused to remove it from the bill. The owner preferred to tell us he had "bills to pay" rather than take responsibility.
Another extremely inappropriate remark: when we asked if some of the meats were halal, the waitress replied dismissively, "Oh no, not just the kebab!"
Between the contempt, the lack of respect, the complete absence of professionalism, and the attitude towards certain customers, it's legitimate to question this place given the number of positive reviews.
As tourists, we clearly felt unwelcome.
Avoid this place.
MY RESPONSE TO YOUR REVIEW:
I note that it's easier for you to ridicule your customers than to acknowledge your deplorable service and management. You were perfectly within your rights to refuse a 2 p.m. lunch reservation instead of accepting it and then making customers feel like they were bothering you. Calmly requesting another table or pointing out dirt in a salad is perfectly legitimate. The problem was never the customer, but rather your lack of friendliness and your sense of service. Telling others to "avoid" a customer simply because she didn't appreciate your behavior only proves what a poor businessperson you are. Seriously, change careers.

28/10/2025: This restaurant has the advantage of being more affordable than those on the seafront. The owner is very kind and helpful. However, the food is rather bland: the burger is smothered in processed sauce, and the Caesar salad is swimming in dressing. You can also hear arguments coming from the kitchen…
