06/08/2026: It was a pleasure to rediscover this excellent Caen restaurant. The cuisine is as wonderful as ever, with precise cooking, perfectly balanced seasoning, and masterful flavor combinations. The service is impeccable, attentive without being intrusive. We particularly appreciated the non-alcoholic wine pairing, which led to some delightful discoveries; thank you to the sommelier. A truly enjoyable experience in this new location with its soothing and intimate decor.

26/07/2026: We dined at Contre Sens the weekend of July 14th, as we do every year. It's always extraordinary; each dish is a delight of finesse and refinement. The service is very pleasant.

18/08/2026: Fantastic!!! You can't come to Caen and not come here. The best steak tartare we've ever had. The wine was a proper serving, not the standard 12cl they give you in France. The service was excellent.

The homemade sauces, in particular, were incredibly delicious and gave the dishes that special something. You can simply taste the emphasis placed on quality and flavor. On top of that, the service was very friendly and attentive. It was especially helpful for us that German was spoken – this made communication completely straightforward, and we immediately felt at ease. 🇩🇪🇫🇷 A thoroughly enjoyable visit with fantastic food, friendly people, and a pleasant atmosphere. A clear recommendation from us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If we are ever in Normandy again, we will definitely be back! 🇫🇷❤️

25/08/2026: We stopped by chance at this place where the atmosphere and the food are exceptional. The mussels in cream sauce were very good, etc... good from start to finish.

18/08/2026: A wonderful café, the owners are very friendly, and the specialty coffee is delicious. It has a lovely terrace, perfect for relaxing and enjoying life at a leisurely pace, right on the main pedestrian street. They also sell whole bean coffee to take away and filters for Aeropress and V60 brewers. I took some Aeropress filters because I'm on a road trip ☺️

01/08/2026: A hidden gem in the heart of Mondeville. The atmosphere is lovely, with a very pleasant waitress. The owner is in the kitchen and he's incredibly talented. Everything is homemade, even the delicious vanilla ice cream; it looks as good as it tastes. The terrace is fantastic, shaded, and insect-free—this restaurant is a real find! I highly recommend it if you're looking for a truly delicious meal; this is the place to remember.

13/08/2026: Excellent. Simple and effective cuisine using fresh ingredients. And we even learned that there are no more pomegranates in grenadine ;-) Very reasonable price. A very enjoyable experience.
