07/05/2024: One evening in May, as the sun was setting in a blaze of flamboyant colors, I had the fortune to find myself in the picturesque village of Cliousclat. Guided by the tantalizing murmurs of gluttony emanating from a rustic inn, I ventured inside the Alandier, like a valiant knight in search of the Grail. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by human warmth as comforting as a ray of spring sunshine. The atmosphere was full of family friendliness, as if I were entering the home of long-time friends. The dining room, decorated with rustic and refined charm, featured shelves overflowing with bottles of wine with promising labels, alongside vinyl records carefully arranged like ancient treasures. The menu, offered at an unbeatable price - twenty-five pieces for a gastronomic feast! - left me speechless. The chef, a maestro of French cuisine, seemed to draw his inspiration from the treasures of the region, highlighting seasonal products and local flavors. To open this gustatory ballet, I had the privilege of tasting a scrambled style omelette with cantal and hazelnuts. The creamy texture of the omelette, enhanced by the assertive character of the cantal and the crunch of the hazelnuts, was a very promising introduction. The dish of the day, pulled pork with hummus, then satisfied my taste buds. The meat, exquisitely tender, went wonderfully with the creamy chickpea puree, creating a symphony of oriental and rustic flavors. To end this feast in style, I had the choice between two desserts as tempting as a siren's song: a hearty chocolate mousse and a pear au vin with white chocolate. Unable to resist the call of chocolate, I opted for the mousse, which turned out to be a real cloud of indulgence, melting on the tongue like a sweet dream. Each dish, prepared with passion and expertise, was an ode to local products and French culinary know-how. L'Alandier de Cliousclat is not just an inn, it is a culinary haven where you can enjoy refined dishes in a friendly atmosphere, transported by the magic of the Drôme terroir.
