06/03/2026: What a disappointment this time. Last August, we thoroughly enjoyed the tagine and couscous with kebabs. We went back in February, again for lunch, and what a letdown! The couscous with kebabs was nothing like the previous meal. The meat had been excessively sprinkled with spices; we were searching for the taste of lamb, to the point that, upon closer inspection, we discovered the spices were masking meat that had already gone off. It's a shame; I'm not sure I'll be going back.

04/03/2026: I had a warm goat cheese salad for lunch and was disappointed by the variety of ingredients and the quality of the produce. A homemade vinaigrette would have been much better than the industrial white dressing, good bread would have been a welcome replacement for the cheap sliced bread, and a few fresh herbs would have improved the lack of seasoning (there was no salt or pepper on the table). The chairs on the terrace were particularly uncomfortable. Aside from that, the service was excellent.
20/01/2026: We arrived with almost 40 people for lunch and were very well received. The service was quick and the food was very good!

09/03/2026: I'd wanted to try the Hippopotamus in Rueil-Malmaison for a long time, and I finally did on a Sunday evening.
What can I say about the floor? It was a complete disaster, with many missing wooden planks hidden under rugs.
The dishes were fresh and tasty, but not very generous. The dessert was a bit of a letdown, but quickly rectified.
The waitstaff was excellent, always smiling and taking the time to check on us. A few small things to improve: they should use paper straws in all the cocktails, offer larger portions, and perhaps even implement the Hippopotamus loyalty program.

10/03/2026: Clean room with a good bathroom but the downside to the bathroom is that the toilet is in a very cramped room by itself. Comfortable and clean beds and a spacious room.
Edit: Thank you for the response. The inconvenience from the size of room where the toilet is located is minor compared to how I was impressed with the rest of the hotel. I would return.

02/09/2024: A truly remarkable experience. The menu featured classic French dishes like veal sweetbreads and foie gras, giving us a real taste of French cuisine. The waiters took the time to explain each dish in English to our guests. All this in a cozy spot in the western suburbs of Paris.
Deserves its star.

The quality of the food has declined significantly compared to the last time we went there, 6-7 years ago. I remembered a high-end restaurant with refined dishes.
The prices have remained the same (~€32 for a main course, ~€14 for a dessert), the setting is very pretty, and the service courteous. However, the dishes with some frozen ingredients (bread, profiteroles, vegetables, meat sauce) have significantly declined in quality. The melon soup and the salmon gravlax were also at room temperature, which is a shame.
Only the Chateaubriand beef remains a good product.
My wife and I came to celebrate our eighth wedding anniversary, and we were really enjoying it. We won't be back. What a shame.
