24/05/2026: Really worth the effort for us to walk 20 minutes from our hotel to L’Aubergeade, friendly services by the bosses, always so positive and cheerful .. Absolutely loved the French classics here. The escargots were rich, buttery, and packed with fragrant garlic herb flavor — perfectly baked and incredibly satisfying. The foie gras was smooth, luxurious, and paired beautifully with the bread and sweet jam for a perfect balance of savory and sweet. The bone marrow was indulgent and full of deep flavor, while the lobster was fresh, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The octopus was another standout — tender, smoky, and beautifully seasoned without being chewy. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic flavor. Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience overall. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys classic French cuisine done right!

24/05/2026: A pleasant, slightly secluded restaurant frequented primarily by French diners. It offers modern cuisine brimming with character, with particular care and attention paid to the cooking and finishing of the dishes, which are beautifully crafted, particularly the crispy vegetables and tender meats. Even the sauces, often found in French cuisine, are unobtrusive and complement the dishes well. The wine list is well-stocked, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the prices are in line with Parisian standards. One suggestion: install sound-absorbing panels on the ceiling to reduce noise, given the convivial atmosphere. Bravo!

24/05/2026: Staying overnight nearby ready to catch an early train out in the morning I needed a meal and a drink. Having passed several possible restaurants I wandered into this one and was very pleased that I did. It's unpretentious, serves good food and beer, and is very reasonably priced for central Paris. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere comfortable. I got talking to my neighbour, also on her own, she told me she commutes via Gare de Lyon and this is where she always comes if she misses her train or can't be bothered to cook. That's a real endorsement!

02/05/2026: This is the second time we have been there and each time it is full of young people enjoying a glass of wine. The cheese plate is a great compliment to the wine. Unfortunately not many seats are available, so just find a corner and enjoy a glass of wine.

They even made sure I was seated in the better direction which was a small detail that really stood out. The food was excellent & everything was well-prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It made for a genuinely enjoyable dining experience. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and attentive, considerate service.

The menu is simple to understand, without unnecessary complications, with transparent pricing from the outset. The cuisine is authentic French tradition: generous portions, well-executed historic dishes, and bold, uncompromising flavors. A solid place, where you eat well and leave satisfied, without any surprises.

07/06/2026: The chef delighted us with his delicious dishes; the food was impeccable. However, the cleanliness was only just acceptable. This establishment has great potential, but this is one area that needs improvement to reach its full potential.

15/04/2026: Hearty nose-to-tail cuisine with dishes you won’t find in most French restaurants, but the service (or lack thereof) really does take away from the experience. We went to Amarante for lunch on a weekday. Amarante specialises in traditional French cuisine, with a focus on offal. For starters, we took the veal tongue and the pork trotters. Both dishes were relatively simple in presentation, but very well executed, especially the veal tongue which had a delicious mustard based condiment. For mains, we took the sweetbread and the chicken. Both meats were cooked perfectly: nicely caramelised, with succulent crispy skin for the chicken and a very juicy interior. The sweetbread was very rich and melted in the mouth, though we felt it lacked a bit of salt. However it was served with a superb potato mash which had a smooth texture but a really strong potato flavour which was delicious. For desserts, we had their dark chocolate mousse and their almond cake. Both desserts contained very little sugar which was very impressive, and had a really strong flavour of the raw ingredient (cacao and almonds). The mousse in particular was among the best we’ve had. Purely judging on the food, this would be a 4/5. It’s simple cooking, but very well executed. The service however brings this down to a 3/5. Our waiter was quite cold, and somewhat rude at times, almost taking offense when we asked for salt for the veal sweetbread. We were also never asked whether we enjoyed certain dishes, and overall this made the experience less enjoyable.

01/04/2026: do book ahead! loved the food. we went there for lunch and got the worker's lunch set. we got the veal tongue and pork rillettes as starters. veal cheak and pork chop for mains. and almond cake with pear ice cream, and lemony meringue thing (which was the only thing we didn't really like) they gave sourdough instead of baguette as the bread! the waiter was v nice and accommodating by speaking in english with us! he recommended good red wine to pair with our meal too.

05/04/2026: We had a very pleasant evening at Le Siffleur. The terrace is lovely, overlooking a quiet street, and the interior is cozy. The wine and food are good, and the prices are reasonable. We had made a reservation because there were five of us, which was probably necessary as there aren't many tables inside.

21/03/2026: A 45-minute wait for half a steak with a single potato for €30—I've never been so disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff welcoming, but the price is simply outrageous.

16/03/2026: A very nice restaurant, but I was disappointed with the food. The selection was very limited, with many dishes and desserts containing nuts. So, for those allergic to hazelnuts, almonds, etc., eating at this restaurant is a punishment, as you can only order one starter. Mine was halloumi, which had no taste; the cheese was rubbery and clashed horribly with its "puree." For the main course, I ordered beef. €30 for a slice of beef fillet with spinach and a side of potato—very bland and not at all a generous portion. And for dessert—nothing. Because everything is made with allergens, so thanks for the alternatives and limited choice of dishes. The wine, however, was very good. I certainly won't be going back. Paying so much only to leave feeling unsatisfied is truly frustrating. But unfortunately, many restaurants operate this way. For the same price, or even less, go to breweries in the surrounding area!
