24/02/2026: We ordered the €12.50 set menu and the traditional burger. The chicken was overcooked and the potatoes weren't hot enough. The burger was dry, the cheese barely melted, but the meat was good. The waitress was friendly and quick.

22/09/2024: This is the second time we've tried this restaurant. We were disappointed with the value for money the first time. Seeing the rather glowing reviews, we tried again to celebrate our mother's birthday. What a disappointment! We paid €76 per person, including an aperitif, starter, main course, dessert, and wine. At that price, we expected to be surprised and delighted. This restaurant's €56 menu is really too expensive for the quality and quantity served. My mother's lamb was overcooked, and my brother's was a small piece of free-range pork with no meat, nothing but fat. We had to ask for it to be changed, and my monkfish wasn't very big. As for the starters, the chanterelles and squid weren't spicy enough. The desserts, the pistachio soufflé, were excellent; however, the profiteroles were only two miserable little choux pastries with choux pastry that was too dry, as if it hadn't been made that day. The dishes and presentation were rather simple. In conclusion, only the outdoor setting was pretty and the service decent, if a little cold. For a €56 menu, we expected much better. We paid a lot, and the meal was not up to par. We will definitely not return and we do not recommend it. We can easily find better for less. In fact, for that price, we ate at a one-star restaurant in Mers-les-Bains. It was magical, a true journey for our taste buds and a pure visual experience.

21/09/2024: Overall disappointed. The setting is magnificent, the service is quality but the cuisine lacks seasonings, there are few on the plate and for a menu at 55 euros, we expect better in quality and proportion. I have eaten much better elsewhere for 30-35 euros per menu, which is what the menu at Coeur de la Forêt is worth, no more. The setting does not justify the price-quality imbalance of this restaurant.
