Hotel restaurant de la Vigotte

Girmont-Val-D'Ajol
26/03/2024: Hotel ideally located between the woods and the countryside with magnificent panoramas. I am warmly welcomed by the owner. The room is spacious and very pleasant with large openings to admire the view. I advise you to open the windows in the morning, you will hear a choir of birdsong. The bedding doesn't suit me, but I have a sensitive back... I enjoyed my dinner, nothing to complain about. The only downside will be breakfast. For my taste, I lack a little more savory products like cold meats (local of course) 😉 In any case, the staff takes great care of their customers. Very appreciable, for proof. I am extending my stay. Thank you for everything….
25/03/2024: One star, for the geographical location which is an asset for nature and local lovers. Family meal with young children. Disappointment Points to review: - Aperitif: no menus are offered, whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Blind for drinks and prices... A Coca-Cola requested, received already served in a glass with ice cubes... forced to return it because it was not sparkling... A bottle bottom?! Absence of the Coca-Cola / pespi deposit at the service. The carafe of water (75cl) costs €3, I understand the environmental principle without worries. We pay well for Evian and co. On the other hand, since it comes out of the tap and not from a locker, make sure that it is a little cool and not at a very ambient temperature... Not even an appetizer (so many things that can be offered at a lower cost and locally) or “peanuts”. -2 menus offered 50€ and 25€: (the idea is interesting because it ensures the freshness of the dishes and the quality of preparation in the kitchen) but the choice/selection of starters and main courses, desserts is limited and only affects a certain clientele . Too bad... our Vosges gastronomy has a wide choice of recipes. Review the quantities and presentations of dishes. Ex: Half a pork shank (indicated pork shank on the table), half a slice of ham (very good) whether you're a child or an adult, it's the same, said in passing, which was accompanied by a small Munstiflette and a few salad leaves, a small Vosges salad (revisited) or review the basic ingredients of the recipe then.. -no advice on the wine that could accompany the dishes (this is a plus) - Be careful and be clear in your words, When you are asked for the children's menu, if you have Ketchup, do not answer with a yes, it will have homemade white ketchup... in reality I was expecting ketchup homemade (because yes it's possible) in fact it was something other than quid, chives, garlic, etc.... Say no, I don't have any, please excuse me but the PDT donut comes with quid. - Server / manager - customer relationship to be reviewed! Ex: Even if we are professional or not, we ask between each dish served if it was. In order to see if the customer is satisfied or not, to improve and correct if necessary, and that the customer leaves on a positive note. I understand that we have our own personal or professional worries, but a smile is always a pleasure and an exchange/advice during meals allows you to forget the little notes that may be negative. I'm not going to teach you but the customer is your business card for your restaurant (word of mouth, etc.). Value for money: I am "for" restaurants working with local products and not limiting themselves to Metro and co. I understand that there is a margin to respect but it needs to be reviewed. Having gone to Vosges restaurants which also offer local food with selective menus between €21-€57, I apologize but it was much more qualitative in terms of presentations, quantities and recipes, and service. .
