Creperie Les Vieux Volets
Tonnerre
21/03/2026: Excellent galettes and crepes in a superb setting and impeccable service.
19/02/2026: It's not just the shutters that are old; the dining room, kitchen, and toilets are too. It's like stepping back in time to the 1950s. We were a group of ten, completely alone in the room. If we hadn't come, there would have been zero customers. It was a Sunday lunchtime. The crepes are simple and tasty, but they arrive in dribs and drabs. And to top it all off, the bill was impossible to decipher, requiring us to pay for about twenty crepes or ice cream. We had to pay for an extra crepe to speed up the process. The staff were very nice, but I think they should find another line of work.

L-Abbaye
Tonnerre
22/03/2026: The welcome and service were excellent.
But it's nothing like the exceptional cuisine we used to enjoy; there were no surprises.
As for the presentation, the delicate vegetables of yesteryear are gone. Just a simple mousseline to accompany the quality Charolais beef.
13/03/2026: A superb experience in this idyllic setting! The wine-themed escape game featuring regional wines and cheeses was a fantastic discovery, as spectacular as it was enriching and fun. An ideal activity for a group of friends; we'll remember it for a long time.

Logis Auberge de Bourgogne Restaurant
Tonnerre
04/02/2026: I stayed two nights, one of which was for business. The hotel is in a state of disrepair, really... it's completely dilapidated. Everything is old, almost abandoned.
The feeling the hotel gives us is that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?" They don't want to make a big deal out of it, like, "We know, but that's just how it is." For example, at breakfast, I witnessed a guest complaining that the coffee machine wasn't making cappuccino (but some kind of drink that was half water, half... who knows what), and the hotel employee replied, "Yes, that's true, but nobody ever asks for cappuccino anyway." For my part, I noticed that the Nutella expired in January 2026, and it's February 4th... Basically, the whole hotel is like that! The general feeling is one of "it's still passable"... You can't really say it's dirty, but why dust it? It's not broken, it's still functional, so why repair it? The walls are still standing, so why repaint them (or fill the holes)? The maintenance worker must be in jail 😂
That said, the hotel is quiet, all the staff are very polite, the heating works, the water is hot, and there are no bedbugs!! That's something, at least!
I'm almost sorry to leave such a review and photos, because there's real potential. It's such a shame.
Please do something! A fresh coat of paint on all the walls would be a good start.
17/12/2025: The room was outdated, nothing like the photos on the website, and poorly insulated.
The meal cost €30, which was okay 🤷🏻♂️, not worth €20, but you have to take what you can get.
However, the staff were very unfriendly, even downright rude. The two female guards last night were like prison guards. If they're not happy in their jobs, the customers aren't to blame.
Otherwise, everything went well.

Le P'tit Gourmet
Tonnerre
17/08/2024: After wandering through the picturesque town of Tonerre, I decided to stop here after seeing an exciting set menu on a chalk board for €24 per person. The meal started out very well: the speedy service ensured I had my drink within 5 minutes and my starter within 10. This is where the real highlight of Le P’tit Gourmand was - the food. To start I had a delicious and exciting quiche de jambon et fromage with the crispiest and most buttery pastry you’ve ever tasted. What made this quiche unique was the perfect balance between the tanginess of the goat’s cheese and the saltiness of the ham. Following that I chose the filet mignon with potatoes and carrot purée. For me, this was the highlight of the meal: the filet mignon practically melted in my mouth and the balance between the earthiness of the carrot purée and potatoes with the richness of the filet mignon was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately it was at this point that the dining experience went downhill and the waiters seemed to lose interest in my table. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes before we asked for our table to be cleared away and for the dessert menu, despite several waiters walking past our table and seeing we were finished. For pudding, I had a tarte aux poires with vanilla ice cream, which was delicious and not too sweet which I appreciated. However, it was not enough to make up for the frankly poor service that I received. It’s really a pity because had the service lived up to the quality of food, this restaurant would really be something quite special and exciting. Instead, it feels like they are striving for something but can’t quite be bothered to get there. 3 stars.
15/08/2024: Found at random on a street and really good food. Top service and excellent cuisine. The beef is extraordinarily good 👍👍 Thanks to the whole team from the Nat's 😉😉
