I'm sorry to say my opinion is rather average.
The owner isn't very welcoming and tends to avoid eye contact when you try to speak to him... which, thankfully, isn't the case with his wife.
I went there with my aunt and found it noisy (perhaps because of the table near us).
€20 for the set menu seems quite expensive to me (we're in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande). The starter consisted of three small pieces of stuffed ham (nothing special), the veal wasn't particularly good, and it was served in a bowl (absolutely impractical for cutting).
The dessert, however, was very good.
I might go back to avoid being disappointed and try the rest of the menu.

During the week there is a choice of the menu de jour or à la carte.
Proper local food from local suppliers.

23/09/2024: Warm welcome from the host. A real feeling of arriving at friends' house. The open kitchen, where the hostess excels in preparing dishes that delight our taste buds, is a plus. Nothing is hidden and that's good. This professional couple is a very efficient and very pleasant pair. This restaurant fully deserves to be listed in the BIB of the Michelin guide. The prices are very reasonable considering the delicacies on the menu. Reservations are recommended. This restaurant is worth a detour because its food is excellent.
22/09/2024: We loved it, we came on Saturday the 22nd in the evening, we had a great time, a new place, magnificent, clean, very, very pretty, it really appealed to us, we will come back, thank you again

17/08/2024: We arrived in the Perigord after a 12 hour drive, the shops had all shut (19.30) and this pizzeria took pity on us, spontaneously made us 4 pizzas and gave us wine and beer too, although they had actually closed. SO kind! Thank you!!! AND the pizzas were really good!
17/08/2024: The owner was extremely rude so we left without having dinner. We arrived when the restaurant was full. We were told that within half an hour they will have another round. We waited for more than half an hour, close by. In the meantime another couple arrived and was seated. When I told the owner that we have been there before them, he simply told us that if we don't like it we can go! So we did!

Je ne connaissais pas le restaurant le 8 , mais le nouveau remplaçant restaurant « Le Dix « sert une cuisine de qualité pour l’avoir essayé 2 fois ça vaut le détour

12/09/2024: We came for lunch. Very simple and warm welcome. Impeccable service. We were on the terrace. Extra. We chose the formulas of the day: soup, Bavarian tomatoes, 1/2 cockerel rösti salad, chocolate pear tiramisu with a Château Lamothe Mandrone 2020 then espressos. Excellent cuisine. Tasty, tasty. There is work. This excellent table is worth trying. No pretense here. Everything is authentic. We will come back. We highly recommend this beautiful establishment.
06/09/2024: Bar-brasserie which has managed to preserve all the authenticity of the place, the Café de la Poste and it's really nice to take a step back in time.
The dishes are of excellent quality with a desire for homemade, fresh local produce.
Special mention for cooking the duck breasts.
Thank you for this good moment of sharing during an unplanned stop, keep it up.

08/07/2024: Une cuisine épicée, mélange de sucré salé.
Une attente longue entre chaque plats sans dessert… dû à un service totalement inachevé par des poses cigarettes de l’équipe et de sa gérance, cela donne le ton sur le professionnalisme de la maison! Pourtant pas débordé par l’affluence
83€ a deux sans café ni dessert et seulement un verre d’apéritif.
Nous n’avons pas du tout apprécié, cet esprit nonchalant et baba cool…
Pas vraiment commerçant, manque d’ambiance
