18/09/2024: Pour un repas de 7 personnes, nous avons été pris en charge par un serveur très efficace et avec un humour 3eme degré fort sympathique. Nous avons eu tout le temps de prendre l'apéritif avant le service des entrées (notamment la terrine du patron façon "Servez-vous"). Un tout petit peu d'attente pour le plat, mais chacun ayant choisi un plat différent (ou quasiment), cela laisse entendre que la cuisine est préparée à la demande :cuisses de grenouille excellentes, hamburgers maison fabuleux... Les très bons desserts sont à un prix très abordable. Bref, tout était parfait, même la visite du chef après le repas. Même ma belle-mère à adoré, c'est vous dire. À refaire.

19/01/2025: I'm alone so I'm placed at a table at the very back next to the gutter where I get freezing water. Then I wait 15 minutes without a sign from the waitress so I get up to ask her to take my order and she only then tells me that for drinks it can be done directly at the bar. I order and after 10 minutes I say to myself that I would like to nibble something... I had to wait for the waitress to deign to look at me to succeed in eating it. Another 20 minutes of waiting and the owner comes back to see me asking me what I wanted to eat because the waitress forgot what I had ordered... And presto we start again from 0. When I finally have my poor plate of donuts of potatoes, the waitress offers me sauces... 10 minutes of waiting and the sauces of course never arrived. The donuts were cold and disgusting because they were bathed in oil, but that's nothing compared to the deplorable service; especially since when I arrived the terrace was far from being crowded.

12/08/2024: Great views, very dated facilities. Not at all dog friendly, dogs not allowed in bar terrace despite the owners having their own dogs there. Very noisy and quite smelly at times. Would not recommend to anyone with dogs, lake adjacent was ok for dogs early morning or late in the afternoon. Railway is a 30 mins walk but worth it to get into chamonix

31/08/2024: Very good meal and efficient service despite the high attendance of the establishment. I really enjoyed the perch fillets served with a delicious homemade ratatouille. Very good burger too. And I recommend the tiramisu to finish. The prices are fair considering the quality.

29/08/2024: This place is downright terrible! It seems like they hate tourists. When we accidentally took a tray, they simply gave us the middle finger! As if that wasn't bad enough, after we got a few drinks, they refused to serve us more after only 2 drinks. Ridiculous!!! The service is below par and the attitude of the staff is just unacceptable. Definitely a place to avoid if you want to have a pleasant experience.

16/09/2024: I only put one star because the shelter canceled our night with our 17 college students a few days before the stay. They sent us an email to tell us without contacting us by phone. Very big lack of knowing how to live. The reservation was made in the spring for September, signature of the academy and the college director. And the excuse was, we don't have school approval. With his signatures it was proof!!!! He exceptionally had to open for us, making us wonder if they didn't want to finish early. Fortunately we were able to find elsewhere but we will not do the fiz tour as planned. So I cannot judge them on their quality of service and welcome but I do not recommend it to anyone.

31/08/2024: We were bivouac so no opinion on the dormitory. We had the evening meal as well as breakfast. Very good and hearty meal for hikers. Soup with a large piece of tomme. Crozets gratin with vegetables Pineapple cake. Our welcome was perfect accompanied by a big smile to begin our tour of the Fiz. And yes, no shower, because no water! The name of the refuge is quite self-explanatory!
