The check-in process was lengthy and difficult for many. There was confusion about the deposit. There was no hot water, but they do have a shower, which apparently doesn't work often. The food is decent, the bar closes very early, and if you have to leave your backpack in the garage but sleep on the top floor, this is very annoying.

Amazing stay at this refuge - the views! Exactly what it says on the tin - amazing location; clean; super efficient; good food and nice packed lunch :) will defo come and stay again

Le Refuge de Plate

26/08/2026: A wonderful stop at the Refuge de la Platé! We stopped for lunch and tried the vegetarian wrap, which was truly excellent and much appreciated after a long day of hiking. The welcome was warm and friendly, with that authentic mountain refuge atmosphere we love to find in the mountains: simple, convivial, and unpretentious. And what can I say about the setting… simply magnificent! A place where you'll gladly stop, both to eat and to soak up the atmosphere and the scenery. A truly wonderful place that I highly recommend.
