15/10/2026: We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and care taken in the presentation of the dishes. The terrace is lovely, with views of Mont Blanc. The service was very friendly, and a special mention goes to the cushion for our baby. We will gladly return 🙂

11/07/2026: The restaurant was closed on a Saturday at 2 pm, contrary to what Google says. We were hoping to have lunch there and were disappointed. The snack bar had nothing, just some sweets and coffee. The rest of the place was completely empty.

08/07/2026: The daily menu is great! Good value for money. The staff are very welcoming, I highly recommend it!

22/08/2026: Another visit to this friendly bistro-restaurant where the chef knows how to prepare veal very well. Last year I had a T-bone steak, and this time a classic veal chop delighted me. Perfectly cooked, tender meat, mini chanterelles, and excellent sautéed potatoes on the side. Relaxed atmosphere. Fair price. See you next year!

20/08/2026: We didn't have the chance to try this restaurant because the waitress kicked us out unceremoniously at 8:30 pm, telling us "we're not serving anymore." She turned her back on us and left – unheard of!

09/07/2026: To everyone reading these negative reviews, a short reminder that this is a remote mountain hut at about 1900 meters, not a boutique hotel, a restaurant or a wine bar. A bit of grounding and respect for being able to sleep under a roof during a trek is not misplaced. The environment and trails around this place are breathtaking. Check in went smoothly, and the girl behind the counter was very friendly. Drop of luggage and shoes in the garage, but you get a plastic box you can put your belongings in and take upstairs to your room. Drinks are same quality and price compared to other refuges and dinner and breakfast are comparable to other refuges on the gr5 route. Due to the drought there was no access to showers, but water that is safe to drink is available and you can wash yourself at a bathroom sink. Agreeable that 12 euro for the lunchbox is a bit much.

17/09/2026: Although we were there during the off-season, we still managed to chat with the people at the refuge and buy some beer (€6 per beer, and no free water available, but it's a remote area, so not surprising, but something to bring). There are bivouac sites nearby with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to see any ibex.

03/09/2026: I was very disappointed by this experience, especially considering the very positive reviews. I completely understand the constraints of a mountain refuge: no running water, complicated supplies, vegetarian meals, etc. But that doesn't excuse everything. The outdoor facilities are in very poor condition. We were asked to leave our bags in containers outside, which is understandable, except that these containers were completely broken, battered, and full of holes. What happens if it rains during the night? You could easily end up with all your belongings soaked. Meals are eaten outside when the group is large, which I can understand. But when it rains, we're supposed to eat under a completely torn and badly damaged canvas. We can accept the constraints of a mountain refuge without being forced to eat in the rain. Regarding the meals, I have nothing against vegetarianism, but I simply didn't find them tasty. Yet there are plenty of good vegetarian meals available in France. I can understand the dry toilets, but they still need to be properly maintained. During our visit, the cleanliness left much to be desired. Finally, I sometimes feel that the refuge takes advantage of its location: on the Platé Desert, there aren't really any alternatives, and hikers are practically forced to pass through. Given the price, I think the service offered by the French Alpine Club really deserves improvement. I'm obviously not asking for the comfort of a hotel, but a minimum level of maintenance, cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities seems perfectly reasonable.

30/07/2026: No information about paid parking. The guest wakes you up after a 3-hour break and demands payment for parking, even though there's no indication that it's paid.

30/07/2026: A very bad experience; I do not recommend this place. The restaurant owner wakes up drivers parked in the gas station parking lot, claiming he owns the land and that they have to pay to park. However, there are absolutely no signs indicating that the parking lot is pay-to-park. It's a very unpleasant experience. Trying to get money this way is truly dishonest. Nie Polecam!!!!
