Pizzeria Pinocchio

10/04/2026: We booked Pinocchio for a birthday celebration with a group of 20 (9 adults and 11 kids), and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The restaurant was incredibly accommodating, with a lovely, quaint atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived.
We were seated upstairs at 6pm, and it was very bright—so much so that sunglasses were needed as there was no awning—but once the sun goes down, this isn’t an issue.
The food was outstanding—fresh, homemade pasta and delicious pizzas that everyone enjoyed. A special mention goes to our waitress, who was absolutely brilliant. She managed our large group single-handedly with patience and professionalism, even as the kids kept changing their orders!
We had one of the best evenings and are so grateful to the entire team at Pinocchio for making it so memorable. Highly recommended!
30/03/2026: As every year, I thoroughly enjoyed myself: arincini as a starter with a nice little salad, followed by an excellent pizza. Very good products.
A tip: make a reservation!

10/05/2026: Everything is home made, which is amazing. But, what I loved about their tartiflette is that the potatoes are sliced really thin instead of the normal cubs so each bite is flavorful and crispy.

25/02/2026: Hello, I highly recommend the fish stew, which was absolutely delicious. My friends and I loved it. It was so nice to eat a fish dish in a mountain restaurant. The sauce was simply divine. The starter (bone marrow) was very generous and perfectly cooked. Next time, I'll try the pizza; I've seen the size, I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it! The waitresses are lovely; when you ask for something, you get it within a minute. Thank you for the warm welcome and the owner's smile. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

30/01/2026: Very disappointed by my recent experience. Burger prices have increased significantly, nearly 100% compared to previous prices.
The new prices are displayed in the restaurant, however, the flyers still being distributed around town list the old prices, which could mislead customers when ordering.
For our group, the bill came to €170 for 9 burgers and 2 fries, an amount we consider disproportionate to the quality of the food. This establishment is apparently bankrupt, which could explain these exorbitant prices.
This restaurant had been a regular for many years, but given this experience and these pricing policies, I no longer recommend it.

28/04/2026: A good spot for a quick lunch. Large outdoor terrace perfect for enjoying the sun.
The dishes are beautifully presented and the ingredients are high quality.
The only downside is the option when paying the bill: the additional percentage isn't for charity but for the staff, and it's not a rounded-up amount but a percentage starting at 10%. It seems to me that in France, service is included and tips are at the customer's discretion. Since the waitress is near you when you pay, you feel a bit obligated...
20/04/2026: We went for a cocktail at this restaurant and what can I say except that the bartender's creation was simply divine.
We'll gladly return.

21/04/2026: Excellent restaurant with a wide range of traditional French dishes. Generous portions, fast service, and a convenient location for any nearby activities. The only downside is that they don't take reservations, which can be a real issue during peak season or major events. Regardless, if you're in Alpe d'Huez, it’s a must-stop for great French food at reasonable prices.

18/11/2025: The owner is obnoxious, unprofessional, and unpleasant 🤮 in these comments.
Who would explain why not mentioning a missing bottle on the bill would be incomprehensible for a biker (considering the price of Harleys!!)?
However, the waitress "offered" digestifs, only to charge us up to €9 for them... left us with a bad taste in our mouths and we won't be going back.
However, the food is good.
22/08/2025: A real precious gem. Out for one night in the labyrinth that is Alpe d’Huez, you want to experience something special, but be really comforted rather than shocked.
Well presented, plentiful and delicious dishes.
Lucky the waitress spoke some English, because our French was quite stretched by the Menu… Ordered a mix of steak and chips, plat du jour (chicken vol-au-vent), pasta, fish and chips and something different, which became my highlight as the mum who cooks at home and could use a break: the tataki de thon, now in my all-time top-2 dishes!
Choice of desserts: mix of unusual and mainstream, just what you want for a special night.
Welcoming host, the type of human you feel you could be friends with - not to be taken for granted in this day and age.
Wish we went back to try the other things on the menu.
