20/01/2026: Fantastic discovery... a very welcoming establishment with regional cuisine and beautifully prepared, high-quality dishes in sauce. The Montaud salad, with its melt-in-your-mouth duck breast and gizzards, and its delicious foie gras, is a standout. And what can I say about the Plan B? The meat melts in your mouth... Go there, but call ahead, Le Moderne is always packed.

Excellent local cuisine, and top-notch service thanks to the friendliness of the waiters and waitresses!
A restaurant not to be missed!

21/09/2024: Cozy terrace in the courtyard and delicious cuisine. Too quick succession of different courses.
12/09/2024: We had a very good evening, the waiters were smiling and very pleasant, the meal was exquisite, from starters to dessert, it was a real treat. An option is offered for vegetarians and unlike usual the vegetarian dish was as good and well presented as the other dishes. We marveled at the beauty of the dessert and the taste was there too.
It was a pleasure to eat at this restaurant, we will come back.
Thanks again to all the team, congratulations to the kitchen team.

09/12/2025: This is our go-to spot! The service is always impeccable, the waiters are all lovely, the food is excellent, and a special mention for the fries, which our daughter adores!
09/12/2025: During our family vacation, we had the opportunity to eat there several times!
Each time, we received a very warm welcome from a dynamic, smiling, and attentive team.
The food was delicious, and everyone found something they liked on the menu.
We will return to Villereal for its charm and its gourmet market, and we will be sure to reserve our table at Le Pied de Poule. Highly recommended!

30/08/2024: Quelle belle découverte, nous avons passé une magnifique soirée, les plats sont sublimes et le personnel au top, nos papilles vous remercie. Surtout ne changer rien. Nous aurons plaisir à revenir. PS, un très bonne anniversaire de mariage 😁

02/09/2024: This place is just a 5 minute drive from Villereal where we were staying. There is loads of parking available.
The staff were warm and welcoming and spoke in English to us (due to our lack of French!).
The menu was varied with a few specials on on each of our 3 visits. The pizza's are lovely and fresh.
It can get busy so it is best to book.

25/08/2023: Stopped by during Wednesday morning market for a quick tea, coffee and hot chocolate with the family. Wonderfully affordable drinks, 2.50 for the hot drinks and 3 for a coke. Nice cafe in a very practical place. Good decor with plants hanging from the overhang ceiling, and a florists just next door.

08/09/2024: What a fabulous restaurant. Came on rainy Sunday with another couple, wonderful warm welcome. Food was superb I had Gravadlax with beautiful pickled Veg then fresh Tuna followed by selection of cheese ,partner had duck. Tremendous. But best of all was the lovely waitress ( owner?). She made us so welcome. Please try it , it's great.
07/08/2024: Wat blijft dit toch een fantastisch klein restaurant, net 50 meter buiten de drukte van de Bastide, eigenaren heel vriendelijk en het eten, het eten is zo vers en heerlijk bereid.
Deze keer kreeft en fruit de mer, heerlijke biologische Muscadet erbij en genieten maar.
