27/05/2026: How can I describe the pleasure we had in our superior room with its king-size bed, incredible walk-in shower, and… a truly royal breakfast!!!! All this, plus a wonderful welcome, lovely conversations, and a simplicity that perfectly matched the quality of our stay! We'll be back very soon to try the restaurant, and best of luck to the whole team!

15/07/2026: We came to Le Pied de Poule before our visit to Biron Castle. What a pleasant surprise! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The terrace and dining room were lovely and charming. The restrooms were spotless. The food was superb, there was a good selection, and the prices were very reasonable!

We booked brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it.
€35 per person, generous portions and delicious. Special mention for the French toast.
The place would benefit from a larger, more secure terrace, especially for children.
We had previously ordered pastries to go and they were also excellent!
We would definitely be back.
01/08/2026: We stopped by for a family snack; the ice cream was excellent and very reasonably priced.
A real favorite!

02/08/2026: So good to be back. Sadly we don’t live here permanently but come whenever UK school breaks permit. My morning routine of a bike ride, rewarded with Du Coffee Crem from my favourite cafe / restaurant bar. Great staff. Excellent quality. A permanent fixture in our French lives and long may it continue. 🙏

25/07/2026: I ordered 3 takeaway dishes, very disappointed with the presentation and quantity of the dishes for the price I paid.
24/07/2026: We had a wonderful time on the terrace enjoying a good glass of Petit Vari wine, a small draft red ale, and of course, a lovely mixed platter. Thank you, I highly recommend this place.

30/08/2024: Quelle belle découverte, nous avons passé une magnifique soirée, les plats sont sublimes et le personnel au top, nos papilles vous remercie. Surtout ne changer rien. Nous aurons plaisir à revenir. PS, un très bonne anniversaire de mariage 😁

02/09/2024: This place is just a 5 minute drive from Villereal where we were staying. There is loads of parking available.
The staff were warm and welcoming and spoke in English to us (due to our lack of French!).
The menu was varied with a few specials on on each of our 3 visits. The pizza's are lovely and fresh.
It can get busy so it is best to book.

25/08/2023: Stopped by during Wednesday morning market for a quick tea, coffee and hot chocolate with the family. Wonderfully affordable drinks, 2.50 for the hot drinks and 3 for a coke. Nice cafe in a very practical place. Good decor with plants hanging from the overhang ceiling, and a florists just next door.

08/09/2024: What a fabulous restaurant. Came on rainy Sunday with another couple, wonderful warm welcome. Food was superb I had Gravadlax with beautiful pickled Veg then fresh Tuna followed by selection of cheese ,partner had duck. Tremendous. But best of all was the lovely waitress ( owner?). She made us so welcome. Please try it , it's great.
07/08/2024: Wat blijft dit toch een fantastisch klein restaurant, net 50 meter buiten de drukte van de Bastide, eigenaren heel vriendelijk en het eten, het eten is zo vers en heerlijk bereid.
Deze keer kreeft en fruit de mer, heerlijke biologische Muscadet erbij en genieten maar.
