We made a reservation, but upon arrival, we were told NO DOGS ALLOWED!
Our friend, who had eaten at this establishment before, ate at a table with a dog!
We asked to be seated outside on the terrace:
refused, they said it was all taken! Except there were four tables and dozens of others folded up. When you're a business owner, all you need is the will!
But this isn't a restaurant! It's run by the South Nivernais Community of Municipalities, not a manager!
So this is where our taxes go, with people who don't care whether you eat or not!
So avoid this place at all costs, because it's not worth your time! Put it under management and it will cost us much less!
And look at Italy and our canine friends!
29/03/2026: We came for lunch one day with our daughters and everything was perfect, the welcome, the meal. We thank the port team and we will be back.

31/05/2026: Place is Tour de France-proof, toilet isn't 🚴😂
🚗On the way south, stopped at Decetia in Decize for a drink. This year, the Tour de France is passing through here for two days, so the town is gearing up for an invasion of cyclists, supporters, and good times.
✅The place itself is top-notch: friendly, cozy, and exactly what you're looking for during a stopover. The drink tasted excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed.
👉🏻Just that toilet… I’ve seen bigger water bottles in the peloton. 😅 You step inside and suddenly understand how a sardine feels. If the Tour riders stop here, I hope they take turns going.
In short: a great spot for a break, a drink, and a smile. For the toilet, I do recommend a good turning circle and some steering skills. 🚴🍻⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**.**

01/03/2026: Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews. The owner's service was very kind and efficient, the croissant is wonderful, as is the raspberry macaroni we had. The coffee was very good and the hot chocolate is spectacular. It's a privilege to have a place like this in such a small town. We will be back many times!
23/12/2025: Clearly, he more than earned his qualification in pastry cream making and his doctorate in chocolates; in short, an excellent pastry chef and chocolatier. However, he only received a passing grade for shop layout and aesthetics and was soundly failed in the master's program for smile/friendliness.

17/03/2026: The delivery driver didn't have GPS, so I guided him by phone. And on top of that, I had to go get the pizzas from his car. It was raining, and he didn't want to get wet! As for the carbonara, the eggs were leaking in the box—a disaster!
14/03/2026: I've been coming to this pizzeria for seven years now and I've never been disappointed.
The pizzas are always excellent, generously topped, and prepared with care. The welcome is warm and the service is always pleasant.
It's a place you happily return to, and the quality has remained consistent over the years, which is rare these days.
I highly recommend it!

Hotel Restaurant Le Bel Air

17/05/2026: SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE.
The hotel is undergoing renovations due to a change of ownership... We had the unpleasant surprise of discovering this (we booked 3 months in advance... it would have been nice to know what we were getting into). If it were a bit like camping because of the renovations... that would be tolerable.
Except that the "room," while a bit dated, isn't a big deal... But that it reeks of cigarette smoke (for the entire 4-day stay!)... that's not the renovations! That the bathroom area doesn't even have a proper door (okay, that's the renovations, I'm going to use my imagination) but... Not even a roll of toilet paper (shampoo, soap in the shower? Forget it). The heating doesn't work (we'll say it's the renovations... but not even an extra heater?!... the temperature in the room was below 15 degrees Celsius).
No doubt the hotel will be better once the renovations are finished, but when you're capable of accommodating guests like this... I'm very worried about what's going to happen! Beware!
At first, I thought the hotel was closed, but since we had an old reservation, it was "just for us"... not so! There were other guests during our stay, so this "hotel" is definitely open!
I'll let you judge for yourselves the photos of the bathroom door with the broken heater and the storage room next to it.

24/05/2026: Catastrophic hygiene: flies, disgusting toilets, not a single clean table
24/05/2026: Stopped in for a coffee. The restaurant was dirty when it opened, with stains on the floor and tables, the restrooms were in the same state with a strong odor, and even the outdoor terrace was filthy.
Disappointed with the overall condition.
Only the coffee was good.
