20/03/2026: The apartment is located in a building right at the entrance to the city, in a quiet area, with the main street just around the corner. The complex itself is relatively tired, but not run-down. They try to keep it clean; you can tell from the architecture and the carpet on the floor that it was designed a long time ago. The elevator works well, and there's a separate ski room and boot storage room, also on the ground floor. It's been mentioned before that the Wi-Fi is terrible. The best spots for reception are the toilet, the bathroom countertop, and the left corner of the bedroom near the headboard. However, watching movies or working reliably isn't possible, and you don't want to be in such beautiful mountains! The apartment is newly renovated and stylish! Everything looks just like the photo, except for the table, which has already gotten dirty. The bedroom is fantastic, the bed is comfortable, the mattress and mattress pads are a special thanks to the owners, and the closet looks small but turns out to be quite roomy. There were four of us (adults and two teenagers) staying here. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find out how we'd fit. But then we ended up living there for a whole week, thanks to the design, which isn't just beautiful but also so functionally thought out. There wasn't enough room for our suitcases, so we simply put them out on the balcony. We were very pleased with the coat rack and bench; they unexpectedly fit all of our ski clothes. The sofa is large, soft, and modern; we were able to curl up on it after a day of skiing. The apartment sleeps six, but let's be honest: sleeping on a fold-out bed in the hallway (like on a train) is uncomfortable; it's noisy from the elevator, and there's no air circulation, so you can't use the bathroom. We slept in the bedroom and on the sofa, which folds out perfectly and is comfortable. Plenty of linens were provided, and the towels were excellent. To sum it up, as the title says – a great apartment for four. The kitchen has everything and more. Everything is new: stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, Nespresso machine. There's a good set of dishes, plenty of glasses, pots, and pans. There are two Sherpa stores in town (one right next door) with a very decent selection: they have a selection of ready-to-heat meals, a good ham section, a wide selection of wines, and everything else. Nearby, a line forms outside in the morning to get a delicious bakery and pastry shop (upstairs to the left of Sherpa) where you can get a coffee. There's also a large cheese shop nearby. There's a pharmacy in town, which is important. Overall, Tignes Val Claret turned out to be a great town for winter skiing, both in terms of ski area and access to the slopes, and for evening strolls. Firstly, it's not congested; it's a dead-end street, so the upper main street isn't particularly busy, with a bus and a couple of cars driving down it. Secondly, you can walk there. Leaving your apartment, you can take a 40-50-minute loop. This is so nice, because sometimes towns are so small that there's just a patch of shops and then chalet after chalet after chalet, and there's no room to walk. Of course, walking along the packed ice path to Le Lac is a special attraction, but we never made it there, even though there are a lot of people walking there. There are also plenty of ski sets, intersports, and similar activities. There are plenty of restaurants in town. I'd recommend 2 Flocons and Alberto during the day in the winter sun. La Grattalu is delicious and good in the evening (book in advance). I didn't like La Pignatta. There are Michelin-starred restaurants, but we didn't bring evening dresses (this time J). They also have super delicious takeaway pizza, right by the elevator entrance between the upper and lower levels of the town (the elevator furthest from the entrance, look for Le Kiosk square, and the pizza itself is right next to the elevator). Order it in the evening and you'll receive it in about an hour (I think you can call them). There's also a great après-ski scene in town itself, near the Les Lanches lift and before the final descent to the town, just above the Tufs landing. Communication with the management during our stay, including check-in and check-out, was all through WA, very fast, convenient, and accommodating! We're delighted with our choice of this apartment; the ski area is wonderful, and Val Claret itself is charming! Thank you.

17/02/2026: This bakery offers an absolutely fantastic gluten-free bread! A corn bread unlike any I've ever tasted anywhere else. It's delicious, baked fresh daily, sliced, and holds its shape well (doesn't crumble like some other gluten-free breads). It has a lovely, slightly toasty flavor... in short, I highly recommend it. It's rare to find such good gluten-free bread. And it's affordable too. THANK YOU!! Note: Order in advance if you want to be sure to get some or if you want to buy several.

23/03/2024: Nous sommes allés dîner dans ce restaurant pour prendre une raclette. Accueil souriant mais la réservation demandée n’a pas été respectée, comme apparemment beaucoup d’autres ce soir là! Donc attention pensez à réserver un 2ème restaurant au cas où!! La raclette (le fromage) était très goûteux mais la charcuterie qui l’accompagnait était en petite quantité , avec beaucoup de pommes de terre ! On est un peu entassés et Il fait très chaud; le restaurant est également très très bruyant. Jolie décoration, mais ça ne suffit pas pour passer une bonne soirée ;

29/02/2024: Très joli restaurant décoré comme un chalet , l’accueil se fait avec le sourire , le service en sera de même . Les spécialités savoyardes sont excellentes, les desserts aussi . Les produits sont d’excellente qualité.

03/04/2024: Bon goût mais trop petite quantité de poulet et trop grande sur le riz. Dommage car ça coupe l’envie de revenir. Pas de nouilles donc obligé de prendre du riz. Bien.

27/03/2024: Horrible, rude staff who don't deserve all the British trade that they get. My family ordered pizzas and drinks and after 20 mins we asked if it would be much longer as we were getting cold waiting outside in the snow. The ginger haired male serving responded with a shrug of his shoulders and said in English, "speak French". In the 20 years as a loyal tourist to Tigne I have always found the local people to be very accommodating and friendly. I speak very little French but I do always try. My son used Google translate to ask if our order was being progressed or had we done something wrong. The male responded in a raft of angry French, shrugged his shoulders and turned his back. I was shocked at what I was seeing. I watched as a couple of teenagers were served half a cup of hot chocolate that was slammed down infront of them. They asked in English if it could be filled and got the same rude response. Minutes later our pizzas were shoved towards us. Avoid this place unless ypu are perfectly fluent in French. I shall be writing to the business as I really do feel upset by it all.

03/08/2026: Incorrectly located on Google Maps, we were counting on it for supplies in the middle of a 4-day trek, but when we arrived at the Google Maps location, there was nothing. It's actually located in Val d'Isère, not near the top of the Pyramides (the ski lift). If you could correct the address to avoid misleading other hikers, that would be great! Have a good season!
