agape sur Angouleme

First of all, very pleasant and smiling waitress which is really appreciated. Very reasonable price: 20 euros (excluding supplement) for starter/main course/dessert. However, we both take duck foie gras as a starter (€4 each extra) and we are brought a plate for 2 with a ridiculously small slice of foie gras for two people. I happily agree to pay an extra 8 euros and do so with a smile if it is justified, but I do not accept that people make fun of their customers by taking them for pigeons. Concerning the dishes and desserts, they were quite good and in line with the prices charged.

Excellent cuisine but largely undersized: we waited more than an hour for our dishes!

Very good value for money with starter, main course, dessert for €20. Good food

What a find this was for our 1st night in France. Nice summers evening, so we sat outside on the terrace overlooking the square, where there was some kind of artisan market and music from a DJ or two. Food and service were outstanding. Only a couple of dishes on the menu for each course, but it was difficult to choose. We went for the Beetroot and goats cheese starter to share, and it was fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. I went for the duck breast main, which was a replacement for veal they didn't have. The duck was perfectly cooked, and loads of flavour. Accompanied by some perfectly cooked veg and potatoes. Finished off with the cheese plate, great mix of hard and soft cheese, for me I would have preferred some bread or crackers with it, but still delicious.

C’est un soir en semaine que nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant d’Angoulême un peu déserté par les touristes et peu de monde au restaurant. Peu de choix au menu, nous avons opté pour des tapas et cocktails en entrée à un prix de 26€ pour 2 très intéressant. Les plats proposés étaient bons et originaux. Une bonne adresse sur Angoulême.

Super high quality and only €20 for starter, main course and dessert, what a joy for passing Ile-de-France residents like us.

I recommend this great address, a pleasant welcome with a beautiful smile from the waitress accompanying us throughout the meal, the decor is nice and the dishes are authentic, to come back with pleasure.

Great discovery during our visit to Angoulême. A delight from starter to dessert. And a big positive point is the welcome, a very pleasant person, smiling and always with a kind word. We are due back in July and will definitely be back.
