Al Dente sur Villefranche-Sur-Saone

Passing through Villefranche-sur-Saône, we were looking for a nice place to have dinner with our dog, who couldn't stay in the car in the 32-degree heat 🥵. We found the Al Dente pizzeria by asking the AI. And we weren't disappointed with our choice, quite the opposite! A dog-friendly restaurant where our dog was greeted with a bowl of water before even being seated at the table 😉. Warm welcome, fast service, extensive menu. You can enjoy pizza, calzone, or pasta to your heart's content, accompanied by Italian drinks. For dessert, you can choose between ice cream with typical Italian flavors or desserts like panna cotta, tiramisu, etc. The result: main course + dessert + drink for 28 euros per person. Fresh and high-quality ingredients. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return if we're ever in Villefranche again.

It was an unplanned stop, as it was on the way between two towns...and what a pleasant surprise! We only ordered pizzas, which were excellent. The crust was thin, and they were made with fresh ingredients. The wine list featured only good wines; we opted for a Primitivo, which was a strong contender against a Chianti—both reliable choices! The staff was friendly, and the owner even offered us a taste of another wine right after we paid the bill. There was also a small Italian grocery section. In short, don't hesitate!

A superb discovery in the heart of Villefranche-sur-Saône! Al Dente restaurant is simply a gem. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with a smile and genuine warmth. The staff is incredibly attentive, caring without being intrusive. You can feel the passion of this team, who love their work. The service is seamless, professional, and very pleasant. As for the food, it's a true journey to Italy. The dishes are flavorful, generous, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Every bite is a delight; the flavors are perfectly balanced. The pizzas are excellent, probably among the best I've ever tasted. The desserts are also divine, a real treat to end the meal. The restaurant has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. You immediately feel at ease, like you're at home. The decor is tasteful and creates an authentic ambiance. It's the perfect place to spend quality time with friends or family. The value for money is truly excellent considering the quality offered. Everything is there for a wonderful evening. You leave with a smile and the desire to return very soon. A must-visit in Villefranche-sur-Saône! I highly recommend it.

A bit of a disappointment, the service was overwhelmed and not very available. The pizza dough was good, but the ingredients were lacking, which is a shame! Saturday, March 14th I completely revise my initial comments after a successful evening with a hot, excellent, and generously topped pizza, and pleasant service, despite the restaurant being quite full.

In short: the best pizzas in Villefranche, without a doubt!! A unique atmosphere, straight from Italy! The bonus? The grocery section!! Thank you for delighting us for years. Amélie P!
