Altitude 2000 sur Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

We came as a group of four on July 15th. At first glance, the prices were quite high, €28 for a burger and fries. I think the view and the lack of competition also contribute to the price. However, the quality of the meal was excellent. The steak was high quality, the bun was homemade, and there was a generous portion of fries, which I appreciate compared to some restaurants that just give you a small basket with four measly fries. The waiter was quite friendly but a little shy. Also, the tap water isn't drinkable, so don't expect to be able to refill your water bottle. Furthermore, bottled water is relatively expensive at €6 for 50cl.

I don't recommend this place. They're incredibly polite, blowing their noses at the table, and they don't serve you. I waited 40 minutes for them to take my order and they never came.

Amazing views, friendly service and delicious tartiflette. You pay a premium for the location but I’ve rarely eaten somewhere with better views.

It was February. While my wife was playing in the snow with my uncle, I took the opportunity to relax. I was strolling through the snow when I spotted the sign for Alti-2000. I sat down on the terrace and ordered a coffee. It was divine, so I asked to see the chef who had created this caffeinated masterpiece to convey my compliments. That's how I met Jules and his warm smile. A coffee enthusiast since childhood, he told me about his lifelong relationship with the percolator, which has kept him company since the beginning of the season. Jules is exceptionally kind and generous. He even showed me the restrooms and spoke to me in German, my native language. Jules is a very attentive person who makes coffee with love. His demeanor behind the counter is exemplary and immediately makes you want to spend time with him. I therefore recommend Jules to anyone who, one day, has the honor of stepping through the doors of Altitude 200. If the world were full of Jules, I'm almost certain it would be a better place. Looking forward to seeing you again, oh great Jules!

I do not really understand all the bad reviews. The food was great and the staff were friendly. Surely, it is expensive but all places in the slopes are. If you enjoy French dishes (tartiflette etc) and a beautiful view then this place is great!

A quick lunch break during a day of skiing. We opted for a beer and a hot chocolate, along with sharing platters: cheese, guacamole, and hummus. So I can't comment on the food! The service was quick and efficient, and the waiter was very friendly, taking the time to listen and joke around, despite the lunchtime rush!

The tartiflette was amazing and you can’t beat the views.

Yes it's extremely overpriced (like any restaurants on the mountain), but the staff is very friendly (which is uncommon in touristy places in France)
