Altitude 2000 sur Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

A truly unexpected and wonderful encounter. The waiter was exceptionally kind: he took the time to explain the mountains in front of us—Pic du Midi, Mont Blanc, glaciers… A true enthusiast, who shares his knowledge willingly and without hesitation. The place is magnificent, and the welcome even more so. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful view of Mont Blanc. Bring a fat wallet if you go there for a drink.

We came as a group of four on July 15th. At first glance, the prices were quite high, €28 for a burger and fries. I think the view and the lack of competition also contribute to the price. However, the quality of the meal was excellent. The steak was high quality, the bun was homemade, and there was a generous portion of fries, which I appreciate compared to some restaurants that just give you a small basket with four measly fries. The waiter was quite friendly but a little shy. Also, the tap water isn't drinkable, so don't expect to be able to refill your water bottle. Furthermore, bottled water is relatively expensive at €6 for 50cl.

I don't recommend this place. They're incredibly polite, blowing their noses at the table, and they don't serve you. I waited 40 minutes for them to take my order and they never came.

Amazing views, friendly service and delicious tartiflette. You pay a premium for the location but I’ve rarely eaten somewhere with better views.
