Excellent experience! A lovely, unique place. There was a bit of a wait, a victim of its own good reputation. We recommend it.

Fantastic teatime! Delicious milk tea and scones just like in England! The terrace is lovely and the welcome was very warm!

What a fantastic hidden gem. My friend and I flew to Cherbourg from the U.K. for a day out and chose the Apple Garden Cafe for a lunch stop. We were greeted by the charismatic Derek on arrival who politely explained how his menu worked and the options available to us. The food was spectacular. Jacket potatoes with a blend of cheeses and garnished with sour cream and chives. For desert, the smoothest and most delicate white chocolate cheesecake I’ve ever had. All at a more than reasonable price. If jacket spuds aren’t your thing, there are alternatives, soups and curries etc.. which all looked brilliant. Derek went to the effort to come and chat to us, to tell us how to make the most of our time in Cherbourg and sprinkled some history in there too, along with a map with the various attractions marked on it. The Cite De La Mer was a fantastic recommendation, but not as good as the Apple Garden Cafe. A must visit when in Cherbourg. Thanks again to Derek and his team for their hospitality and food. The highlight of our day.

Complete vegan lunch which surpised us in nutrients, taste and ambiance. Thanks for that! You order at the bar/kitchen the meals and drinks. Its a delicious meal and even a vegan dessert! Everything fresh and home-made. This all against very reasonalbe price!

A €12 set menu includes a baked potato with your choice of side dish, a drink, and a dessert. The potatoes are flavorful. There are vegetarian and vegan options. Everything is homemade; it's an excellent place!

The Apple Garden is a beautiful haven away from the hustle & bustle of the sea front and centre. Their jacket potatoes are absolutely delicious and huge. Try to leave room for a homemade cheesecake washed down with a local cidre.

A Cherbourg institution. The choice of side dishes is always varied and high-quality, the desserts are excellent (I especially loved the salted caramel cheesecake), the staff is incredibly kind, and the place is truly beautiful, as is the small terrace at the back. If you've just arrived in the city, this is an absolute must-visit. If you're a Cherbourg local, what are you waiting for?
