Au Chapeau Gris sur Versailles

We had a great time as a family with our 2 year old daughter in this restaurant! The place is magnificent and the atmosphere very pleasant. The service was impeccable, with an attentive and smiling team. We were made very welcome, and our little one was pampered throughout the meal, which made the experience even more special for us. The quality of the dishes was there, and we enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. We highly recommend this restaurant, but remember to book in advance to be sure of a seat. We will come back with great pleasure!

Accueil courtois. Décors moyen... Service plutôt rapide.... Plats moyens chers, quantité insuffisante... Bof !!... C'est plutôt cher pour ce que c'est... 24€ la carafe vin rosé 50ml... c'est trop 😱🫨...

I went to Le Chapeau with my son this evening, it’s a restaurant where the staff are pleasant, polite and welcoming. The service is great, they are fast. The starter, main courses and desserts are of very good quality and plentiful! I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to people in Versailles and the surrounding area, to visitors to the Palace of Versailles and to everyone!

We had a great evening; The service was impeccable, fast, and our server was incredibly smiling and attentive, always caring for his customers. Special mention for the Pornstar cocktail, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious! The quality of the products was there, and we felt really good in this restaurant. Congratulations to all the staff for their professionalism and warm welcome. Keep it up, we will be happy to come back!

We had a delightful experience dining at Chapeau last evening with another couple we met while touring the gardens at the nearby Palace of Versailles. Its location was very close and are we are happy to have dropped in. Our server Victor provided professional, knowledgeable and friendly service. He set us up at a table where we were able to relax and enjoy both our meals and conversation without being rushed. He gave us the perfect balance of attention and yet allowing us space while ensuring he didn’t neglect his other customers. He patiently described our choices and made excellent recommendations when asked. We all enjoyed the quality, taste and presentation of our selections and wouldn’t hesitate returning. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience!

Excellent experience all round. We were coming out of a visit to the castle, and decided to stop there for dinner. This restaurant is part of the tradition of Versailles bistros. Very good food in a very good setting. Well done to the teams.

Very friendly waitress, very good meal

A great spot to select after a long day touring the Palace of Versailles. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and our waitress, who spoke perfect English, helped us to navigate the menu! Daily specials of Chicken, Scallops and Sorbet for dessert. Enjoyable food and much merited at the end of a busy day!
