Au Soleil sur Eckbolsheim

We enjoyed authentic brasserie fare, generous and traditional, just the way we like it. The Danish-style herring was impeccably fresh, subtly complemented by grapefruit and apple—a beautiful balance. The liver dumplings and pig's trotter were genuine, flavorful, dishes with character that truly delighted the palate. Special mention goes to the sorbets drizzled with Gewurztraminer marc and the authentic crème brûlée, perfectly caramelized. The welcome was warm, and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The whole family enjoyed it, and the children ate very well too. We highly recommend it!

The desserts weren't great. The rest was very good. The galette des rois wasn't even reheated.

The service is quick and very attentive; the owner, Patricia, is charming and accommodating. The daily special (weekdays) is varied, affordable, and high-quality, and the menu is excellent, featuring carefully prepared homemade dishes. In season, they also offer game, such as an excellent venison fillet with red cabbage and cranberries. I highly recommend it, and there's even a billiards club right upstairs.
