Au Vieux Couvent, where the vegetable garden ends up on your plate. We were welcomed warmly yet professionally by the team. Delicious local cuisine featuring products from their own vegetable garden. The dishes were beautifully constructed and featured surprising combinations, such as the foie gras with strawberries paired with Pinot Noir. An unexpected, yet particularly successful and ultimately logical combination. It is rare that we are served such beautiful and surprising wines during a tasting menu. Every pairing was well thought out and enhanced the dish without overpowering it. For wine lovers, this is undoubtedly one of Au Vieux Couvent's strong assets. The cheeses were also presented in an original way, and we were quickly assisted in making a choice. The absolute highlights for us were the desserts. You taste and feel the chef's passion in every dessert. After the meal, the Chef personally comes to our table, which adds a nice personal touch. The only thing we personally missed was some soft background music. That is undoubtedly a deliberate choice, but for us, subtle background music would give the warm atmosphere during an elaborate dinner just that little bit extra. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for a refined culinary experience.
