A very charming little bistro, with food we thoroughly enjoyed. We ate very well, but what a disappointment the fries were – they were unfortunately cold. Another minor drawback: the tables outside are very close together. We could easily hear the conversations of the people seated next to us, which detracted somewhat from the privacy of our meal. Despite this, we had a good time and the place remains very pleasant.

This place is simply perfect! Discover Northern specialties like Flemish carbonnade, wesh with Maroilles cheese, or potjevleesch. The staff is fantastic and incredibly kind. The decor immerses you in the warm atmosphere of early 20th-century Northern French pubs. I highly recommend it if you're visiting Lille.

First time at Le Vieux de la Vieille. First time I'd ever had a whelk with Maroilles cheese. It was absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed it. Special mention to the servers! Very welcoming, attentive, and always with a kind word! Top-notch!! We'll definitely be back!!

A wonderful experience in a traditional Flemish pub, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and generous portions. Special mention goes to Étienne, who was fantastic from start to finish, offering excellent advice and demonstrating a remarkable knowledge of his ingredients. While I've seen many talented head waiters, I believe he's among those who provide one of the best dining experiences for their customers.

25/08/2026: Very good, we were able to eat quickly before the kitchen closed and the service was pleasant.
23/08/2026: The staff were very welcoming. Passing through Lille, I came to this lovely restaurant for the second time. The first time I was very satisfied, but this time, for dessert, my friend and I chose sugar waffles. They were incredibly dry, practically inedible. I mentioned it to the receptionist, who told me they would speak to the kitchen. I felt very embarrassed in front of my friend, whom I was treating. When you pay, I expect quality in return, and that was definitely not the case. Otherwise, everything was perfect. I recommend this restaurant, except for the sugar waffles.

17/07/2026: The food is very good, with quality ingredients. However, don't expect a friendly atmosphere or warm, cheerful service.
12/07/2026: We had the daily special and it was good. The only downside was that the fresh tomatoes in the gazpacho weren't very fresh; they were limp, as if they hadn't just been cut. The chuck roast and carrot purée were delicious. I think it's a bit pricey.
