A well-located hotel in the heart of Morvan's capital. Friendly staff. The restaurant is of good quality – local cuisine, carefully prepared dishes made with fresh ingredients. Breakfast is adequate (buffet style), but we found it a bit pricey (15 euros).

Thank you to the hotel staff for welcoming our group, the excellent meal, and the pleasant room; the bedding was also very comfortable. We highly recommend it.

The rating is for the restaurant, not the hotel. The service is impeccable and the food is good. However, the set menu price is still excessive considering the quality and presentation of the dishes. At this price, cloth napkins would be appreciated instead of paper ones, as would un-chipped tableware.

Excellent value for money. Superb pool with a magnificent view. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will definitely return if I'm ever in the area. A complete change of scenery. Friendly staff. The only downside: the food isn't top-notch, although the wines are very good.

26/05/2026: A passionate traveler, it was by chance that I stumbled upon the Lion d'Or. And of course, this place left its mark. Normally, I don't bother reviewing the places I stay because everything is so sterile, so similar, and original, unconventional places have little or no reason to exist... But seeing the reviews and ratings piqued my curiosity and led me to dig deeper and understand. The owner is one of those people who are bursting with energy, talkative, intelligent, with a strong and memorable personality. Ultimately, I'd say divisive. But what an evening spent dining with other travelers and the owner! A feast, hastily prepared by our ever-attentive host, peppered with shared experiences and humor. These kinds of moments are part of travel, and they leave such a lasting impression. So yes, it's far from the norm. But if everything becomes standardized, what place is left for such unique individuals? See you soon, my friend. PS: Practice your chess! ;)
