Au Vieux Strasbourg sur Forbach

Restaurant closed (retirement) since December 29, 2025. Thank you Dominique for delighting us all these years and happy retirement!

We gave it 5 stars because we couldn't give 6! Everything was truly excellent! The sauerkraut tarte flambée was an incredible discovery! The dishes were very flavorful, generous, and bursting with amazing taste!! We happily returned the next day! The staff were very pleasant and smiling! Furthermore, the restaurant's decor completely immerses you in the old town of Strasbourg! I recommend it 100%! A huge thank you to the team!

I ordered the "starter + main course" set menu, wondering if I'd also like dessert… the waiter kindly offered to let me choose later if I was unsure (implying it would be included in the price). When it came time to pay, I didn't check, but the dessert I ordered was charged separately (and therefore much more expensive). I checked and paid, then when I realized my mistake, I was told it was too late and they couldn't give me a refund… (I have my doubts). Obviously, the waiter didn't do it on purpose, and he was otherwise very good throughout the meal. What a shame.
