My comment concerns the takeaway food: We ordered truffades to take away directly online from the inn's website. The dishes were hot, delicious, and very reasonably priced.

A lovely evening at the Auberge de la Croix de Fer! The place is magnificent, the welcome warm, the truffade delicious, and the staff very friendly! We'll be back!

A bit pricey for what's on the plate, especially in terms of quality. The atmosphere is pleasant, however, as are the welcome and service. But a major drawback is the quality of the food and even the drinks. A small plus for the cheeses and the 2017 Pessac-Léognan red wine. The setting is nice, but the view is somewhat spoiled by the height of the bushes. I also noticed in the reviews that a waiter is a bit absent-minded and sometimes counts extra dishes on the bill. We actually experienced this yesterday when the bill arrived, but we were reimbursed and the problem was resolved without any hassle, very kindly by a manager. But for almost €100 for two, we were still disappointed in terms of taste.

I've been going to this place for several years and I want to say how highly I recommend it. The atmosphere is welcoming, the music is excellent, and the food is top-notch. It's a place I've always enjoyed visiting. On my last visit, the disc lock on my motorcycle unfortunately jammed. A staff member very kindly lent me an angle grinder so I could remove it. Seeing this, the owner intervened, thinking I might be stealing the motorcycle. At the time, I took his intervention very badly and overreacted. In hindsight, I completely understand his reaction: seeing someone using an angle grinder on a motorcycle could legitimately seem suspicious, and he was ultimately right to be concerned. I therefore fully acknowledge my mistakes in the way I reacted and I wish to offer my sincere apologies to management, and especially to the owner, for my attitude and the words I may have uttered. It's important to admit when you've made a mistake, and that's what I intend to do today. I sincerely hope that this incident can be put behind me and that I can once again enjoy this place as before, its atmosphere, its cuisine, and its excellent musical evenings. Thank you to the entire team, and once again, my sincerest apologies.

Four stars for the truffade. I didn't like my main course. We had to ask for our glass of wine a second time and wait a long time for our desserts. It was very crowded for August 15th...

A very good meal on the way to our holiday destination. The menu is short but features fresh, homemade ingredients. The welcome is warm, and there's a pleasant terrace. In short, highly recommended.

Very disappointed. We had a reservation for 8 pm, but were served at 9:45 pm. There was no organization whatsoever, and the food was basic and nothing special. It's not what we knew a few years ago.

Very disappointed. We hadn't been back for 10 years. A table of 8 people, vegetable salad, dried duck breast, and goat cheese—we only had two pieces of dried duck breast on our plates, which is stingy for the price. The duck leg wasn't very attractive on the plate and seemed rather empty. Sweetbreads were listed on the menu, but the waiter didn't have them. That's it. At this price, I'd rather eat better, even if the setting is nice. Very disappointed.
