A very quiet and pleasant hotel, ideal for a stopover in central France. We slept very well, the breakfast was good, and the restaurant was quite decent. Our hosts were charming. In short, we loved it and will gladly return.

We had a wonderful stay at your hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, with an adjoining terrace that was especially appreciated for sharing special moments with family. We also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, a truly relaxing experience. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, as was breakfast. A special mention goes to the chef's delicious crêpes, which I simply had to try! Beyond the quality of the service, we were touched by your warm welcome, your kindness, and your attentiveness throughout our stay. A big thank you to the entire team. We will cherish the memories of our time with you.

Hotel close to the center with very friendly staff! The facilities are excellent and everything is very clean. The restaurant offers delicious family-style dishes at a great price. A nice wine list is also available. Thank you for this stay, See you soon!

A lovely hotel on our holiday route, but we'd gladly return for a longer stay! The rooms are simple and clean, the welcome was pleasant, and the pool/spa was fantastic! Plus, there's a very nice restaurant. The perfect combination for a great time!

We stayed one night in this charming hotel. Very well located in relation to the center of Chatelguyon, the staff is welcoming and professional. The rooms are clean, as are all the other amenities. The pool gets lovely sunshine in the afternoon! The value for money is unbeatable.

14/09/2026: We had dinner in this beautiful establishment, congratulations to the chef and his team...everything was perfect: exquisite dishes and deliciously seasoned flavors, impeccable and warm welcome, in short, a very beautiful culinary moment shared with my wife...thank you!
14/09/2026: With each visit to L’Impulsif, I notice a genuine evolution. The amuse-bouches become more surprising, and the cuisine is gradually asserting its identity. Serving the signature dish right from the start is a risky move: it immediately sets the bar very high, but the sake pairing perfectly complements this opening course. The lobster, delicately spiced, offers a beautiful balance. The monkfish then awakens the taste buds with plenty of character and a delightful boldness. The sweetbreads with plum are also very successful, even if they still lack that little something extra to fully evoke the expected emotion. The pairing of cheese and port is exceptional and constitutes one of the highlights of the meal. The dessert perfectly concludes the experience, extended with a touch of indulgence by a ratafia. L’Impulsif is a restaurant that progresses, experiments, and takes more risks with each visit. This evolution genuinely makes me want to return.

30/08/2026: My comment concerns the takeaway food: We ordered truffades to take away directly online from the inn's website. The dishes were hot, delicious, and very reasonably priced.
30/08/2026: A lovely evening at the Auberge de la Croix de Fer! The place is magnificent, the welcome warm, the truffade delicious, and the staff very friendly! We'll be back!
