The food is traditional, excellent, and very generous. The view over the valley with Lake Chambon is magnificent. The service is efficient and quick.

The Auberge des Moneaux, a must-visit in the Chaudefour Valley... A wonderful welcome, the staff are fantastic and always smiling, the food is excellent and very generous, from coq au vin to truffade, it's a real treat... The homemade desserts are also delicious... Highly recommended!

A wonderful gastronomic interlude at the foot of the Sancy massif and the Col Saint Robert. We were lucky enough to be able to reserve one of the chef's specialties when we made our phone reservation: stuffed cabbage. Wow! What a treat! In addition to the deliciousness of the dish, we were served with generous portions. Everything was perfect for a wonderful time on the terrace overlooking the meadows and mountains. I also recommend the puff pastry with pig's trotters and the Corent des Chemins de l'Arkose (rosé wine). A magnificent place: thank you to the Chef and our waitress.

The set menu offered good value for money. It's a shame that it was spoiled by the (very) slow service, surely due to understaffing.

While passing through the area, we made a fantastic discovery at this restaurant. I recommend making a reservation. We tried their truffade, a potato and cheese gratin that's an absolute must-try. Highly recommended.

02/05/2026: Excellent cuisine from appetizer to dessert, very generous portions and very reasonable prices. A superb place to discover in the heart of the Auvergne region, surrounded by nature.

31/05/2026: We stopped for lunch in the middle of our e-MTB ride. The welcome was fantastic, the truffade menu was generous, and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant is charming with a lovely terrace. The icing on the cake was that we were able to recharge our mountain bikes. I highly recommend it.
31/05/2026: We came over Pentecost weekend, and the food was a delight. The place is magnificent, and a HUGE THANK YOU AND WELL DONE to Loulou the Maggot, Maxime, Camille, and the wonderful young woman for the wine and the great local recommendations she gave us. Truly a top-notch stop!
