We had only planned to grab a bite to eat or a coffee at a restaurant.
But the pleasant atmosphere and the friendly welcome from the waiter, along with the surprising menu featuring couscous, made us change our plans.
After a Ricard, we opted for the Couscous Royal, a great choice.
Perfectly cooked vegetables—carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, white beets, onions, and garlic in a delicious sauce served in a traditional ceramic pot—along with lamb, beef, chicken, and merguez sausage prepared in different ways, as well as separate bowls of chickpeas, white raisins, and homemade harisa. A rosé from the Berthier winery in Côte Gienoise made the meal a truly special experience.
Second helpings were readily offered, which we gladly accepted, as it was so delicious we simply had to have seconds.
The dessert Café Gourmande, featuring panna cotta with cherry, cream cheese with passion fruit sauce, and crème brûlée, was served like an espresso and accompanied by an intense spearmint tea, prepared in the North African style by the chef. A fine peppermint liqueur, also complimentary, rounded off the meal.
What was meant to be a five-minute break turned into a two-and-a-half-hour culinary experience of pure enjoyment.
Highly recommended.

A very warm welcome. Terrace overlooking the canal. Very relaxing.
Very clean. Restaurant, room.
The mussels and fries, poached pear, and tiramisu were very good.
All-you-can-eat breakfast.
We recommend this establishment.
