Hotel booked for my first leg of the GR 30 hike.
Lovely hotel in the village center, comfortable and welcoming.
The room was very clean, and the bedding was excellent for a good night's sleep.
Breakfast was plentiful and varied.
The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Dinner was eaten in the evening at the restaurant owned by the same person in the village: very good, appetizing food, and the staff was attentive and very welcoming.

The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very pleasant. The mattress was particularly comfortable, which greatly contributed to the quality of our stay. Breakfast was varied and offered a wide selection.
However, the food could be improved. During a multi-day stay with half-board, the lack of variety in the meals quickly became repetitive. Furthermore, the quality of the dishes did not meet our expectations: several items seemed to have been simply reheated rather than freshly prepared.

Authentic cuisine, very generous portions. The aligot, the pounty, the terrine, the Saint-Nectaire fondue 😋 everything was excellent! Quality service, special mention for Jules and his good humor.

We came to Le Cantou restaurant for dinner to discover Auvergne specialties, and the experience far exceeded our expectations.
Generous dishes, prepared with high-quality ingredients, delighted our taste buds from beginning to end. A special mention goes to the delicate and flavorful homemade verbena ice cream, which provided a perfect ending to our meal.
A big thank you also to the owner of the inn for her warm welcome and kindness. We will gladly return.

Comfortable hotel, very good quality bedding, very friendly (and very clean) staff. As for the restaurant, superb, very generous and high-quality meals. Staff as friendly as at the hotel. Congratulations, we don't regret our stay in Orcival. Well worth going and even returning to. The tourist office staff are very friendly and professional.

A magical interlude at Le Cantou!
"What a wonderful discovery! We stayed at Le Cantou and everything was absolutely perfect. The welcome was warm and we immediately felt right at home. As for the restaurant, it's a festival of flavors: the ingredients are fresh, local, and prepared with true expertise. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and tastefully decorated. A must-visit for lovers of authenticity and fine dining. We highly recommend this place."
