Having recently moved to the neighborhood, this shop had always caught my eye, and today I finally got to try it. I only had a chocolate chip brioche, and frankly, it was delicious. The small size is perfect for dessert after a meal. I'll definitely be back.

The service was quite good and frankly delicious. Four small merveilleux pastries and two brioches, one chocolate and one plain. I also tried the small filled waffles I bought, vanilla and rum flavored. They were very good. However, they were far too sweet. The filling was like crushed sugar with some flavoring. It was really too sweet. What a shame.

A wonderful discovery! We loved this bakery, with delicious brioches served still warm—a real treat! 😍 Special mention to the owner for his kindness and warm welcome. He even gave our daughter some little meringues, a thoughtful touch that really touched us. 🥰 Excellent products, a warm welcome, and genuine generosity. We highly recommend this bakery! 🤍

Probably the best pastry I had during my entire stay in Metz. I believe this is their cramique au chocolat, and it was genuinely incredible. I got the large one for €4.40, which is easily enough for two people, although you can also get an individual portion for €2.20. Mine was incredibly fresh, still warm, super soft, and tasted absolutely amazing. Honestly, 10/10 for taste. The price is also very reasonable considering the size and quality. Out of all the bakeries and pastry spots I tried in Metz, Aux Merveilleux de Fred would be my number one choice. If you come here, get this when it is freshly baked and still warm. It makes such a difference. Highly, highly recommended. I would come back just for this.

Finally, delicious chocolate rolls made with good chocolate and real brioche dough! You could even watch them being made. No pre-baked goods. I was thrilled!

17/05/2026: The welcome was very good, we were well received, the entrance hall is magnificent. However, upon arriving in our room, it was more of a disappointment than a pleasure to be in a 4-star hotel. There were hairs on our beds—long hairs on one bed and shorter ones on the other, or perhaps weights—in the bathroom. The same was true: hairs on the sink, and finally, a large amount of dust on the black furniture. We informed them of the dust, went for a walk, and a few hours later it was still there (see the video). Disappointed with this stay, especially since we had just come from a 4-star hotel in Strasbourg that was three times better for half the price. I will not book with this chain again at this price if it's not perfect.
