A very romantic, half-timbered setting, the service was excellent—quick, friendly, and the waitress even spoke German. The food was also fantastic, with cheese fondue and cordon bleu. I've never had such a good cordon bleu.
The tarte flambée was okay, very thin and crispy, but the topping was very good. I would recommend it as an appetizer.
Definitely reserve a table a day in advance; the restaurant is very popular.

The terrace is very pleasant.
The welcome was warm, and the decor is lovely.
The appetizers are original; the sauerkraut spring rolls were well-fried but nothing special, and the same goes for the accras—the variation is original, but the accompanying sauce is bland for this type of fried food.
The sauerkraut was perfect, a classic, simple dish.
The ham hock was incredibly tender, melting in your mouth, but sorely lacking in flavor despite the small amount of sauce, and the fried potatoes were similarly bland.
The service was excellent, and the waiter was very pleasant.

Unfortunately, it feels very much like a rushed operation. The food is okay, but the vegetarian Spätzle, for instance, tasted very much like a convenience product. The prices are good, but the pleasant ambiance was spoiled by the frantic pace of the staff and the constant ringing of the telephone. Furthermore, some of the tableware was damaged.
There are way better restaurants in the city center that I would recommend.

What a great place to start our visit to Strasbourg. So glad for the recommendation from our desk clerk at the Hannong Hotel. We had two different tarte flambeés, and liked them both. Service was friendly and helpful, suggesting local favorites.
