Aux Vieux Paves sur Semur-En-Auxois

We reserved for 8 people and got a nice table. A small but fine French restaurant with a matching cuisine. The service was very friendly and they did their best. We all had a great and enjoyable meal. Plenty of side dishes, although some dishes had been slightly modified by the chef. A nice little restaurant, highly recommended.

We were very warmly welcomed and had a very good lunch with good quality food at a reasonable price.

1) We must commend the two waitresses, because considering the two terraces and two indoor spaces... there were only two of them managing the service while remaining calm – quite an achievement! 👏👏 2) While the parsley ham could have been presented in a more conventional way, the wholegrain mustard ice cream was delicious! 3) As for the Beef Bourguignon, it was the best my wife, who is usually very discerning, has ever eaten. Eight hours of oven cooking resulted in a chuck roast that melted in your mouth. 4) The pear poached in wine was worthy of Bernard Loiseau, as was the chocolate mousse 😋 5) All of this was accompanied by a very good red wine from the Côteaux de l’Auxois, served by the carafe at a very reasonable price. Bravo to the Chef and the entire team at "Les Vieux Pavés" for Parisians passing through.

Amazing beef bourguignon, fast and friendly service

I really don't understand why there were any lower ratings. The food is simply excellent and authentic. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for this delightful experience.

The service was a bit slow, but it was busy. The waiter was friendly.

An excellent lunch spot, just 10 km from the southern motorway, in the heart of the medieval town of Semur. The terrace is pleasantly shaded and located in a quiet, car-free alley. This brasserie serves Charolais beef and Burgundian dishes. The ingredients are carefully selected, and the food is a real pleasure to eat (perhaps the parsley mashed potatoes could use a touch more butter! Just for the sake of it, of course). Don't forget to order dessert; they're all excellent. The ice cream selection is also very tempting. The service is very gracious, and the owner is very attentive to his customers. A flawless experience at reasonable prices.

The food was tasty, and the service was super friendly. We were welcome with our dog on the terrace, and she was immediately given a bowl of water. The restaurant has a cozy interior. A lovely spot!

I recommend the egg meurette - egg époisses duo with excellent green salad.
