Bar a vins - Sous La Robe sur Saint-Emilion

Lovely meal in Saint Emilion. Really great quality and great taste in all dishes. Ordered, amongst other things, a super tasty and well presented duck confit on mashed potatoes and steak tartare which had a lovely spicy twist to it. The crab roll was fab too - huge. All dishes we had were great for sharing which is a plus for families with kids! All dishes were seasoned to perfection.

This establishment is a true restaurant amidst dozens of tourist traps. The unique setting is superb. You enjoy the natural coolness and avoid the crowds on the terraces. A real treat. The meal is simply exquisite. Nothing to say, except... Wow!!! All four of us were unanimous. It was perfect from appetizer to dessert. I slightly regret the limited selection of wines by the glass and especially the fact that we were served wines we hadn't ordered but which seemed more appropriate. It's true they were good, but even if it was a mistake, my choice remains the one that should have been taken into account. So it's a very minor, tiny drawback. The manager's constant presence in the dining room might seem intrusive, but we appreciated the opportunity to chat. In short, don't hesitate. By going to this restaurant, you avoid the crowds, the heat, and poor-quality food, all in an incredible setting with highly competent staff.

This place never disappoints! This was our 5th time eating here! We love the food, the service and the atmosphere. Sylvan is awesome. This is always a stop on our travels. I highly recommend! The only sad part is we won't be able to return until next spring.

Wonderful lunch with my family. We had a great dish and the owner took the time to detail the recipe with me to try at home. Quality of the food is outstanding.

We had a large group (15 people) here and the owner was incredibly acomodating. It was HOT that day but very comfortable in the cave where the seating is, and everyone was raving about the food for weeks afterwards. They have a comprehensive local wine list within a range of price points.

Perfect service! The dishes were beautiful and fragrant; we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend it.

The front of house is a gent. Lovely place for a good meal and some nice wine.
