L'Envers du Decor sur Saint-Emilion

Really nice restaurant with a beautiful terrace!! We came here for dinner and really enjoyed it. The cold lentil soup (suggestion of the day) was super refreshing, and the slow-cooked lamb for two was absolutely delicious - so tender and flavourful. The only small miss was the wine. We asked for a recommendation, but it didn’t match our style. No big deal though—everyone’s taste is different. Would happily come back. Highly recommend!

Third time visiting L'Envers du Décor, and I have to say I think it's gone downhill a bit. The atmosphere is still the best thing about this place—exactly what you'd expect from a lively French bistro, with plenty of character and a great buzz. Unfortunately, the food really fell short this time. We had the T-bone steak and steak tartare, among other dishes, and I mention the meat because everyone who ate it ended up feeling sick later that night. It was really disappointing given how much we'd enjoyed our previous visits. The service wasn't great either. We had to wait around 10 minutes for our side dishes after our mains had already arrived, and our waitress wasn't particularly friendly or attentive. Overall, it was a disappointing experience compared to our previous visits. I hope this was just an off night, but based on this visit, I'd be hesitant to return

Lovely plates, vibrant flavours and beautiful decor

Absolutely perfect. What an incredible and majestic terrace! Generous and delicious portions. Impeccable service. It's "the place to be".

Excellent meal and impeccable value for money. Thoughtful touches like serving the children first while the adults enjoyed their aperitifs, the small financier with coffee, and the sweet treats with the aperitif. A truly wonderful experience with generous and delicious dishes.

Average food, we ordered a T-bone that came with a missing portion, the filet. Unfortunately I caught it late but asked if it was common in France (asking vs. telling them, I know it’s not). The waiter came back with some story about how if it’s the end cut there’s a small or no filet. Sorry, I’ve studied butchery and if that’s the case you don’t still charge 105€ for a T-bone missing the other half of the T, you could clearly tell it had been cut off. The salad was good however at least.

Excellent meal at L’Envers du Décor. A very attractive menu featuring perfectly executed dishes. The flavors are spot on, as is the impeccable service! One piece of meat was overcooked, but it was immediately replaced. Special mention goes to the high-quality, house-made olive oil. Thank you, Arthur.

Didn‘t have reservations, but was the first one at the door when they opened. The team kindly set up a table and fit us in on a very busy night. Food was yummy, especially the burrata and tomatoes starter, and one can‘t go wrong with any wine in St. Emilion. Serving staff very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend when you‘re in town!

Local oysters, tomato and basil sorbet gazpacho, lamb shoulder, and Grand Marnier soufflé. All great.
