A wonderful discovery! The terrace is lovely. The waitress brought the wrong flavor, so I got an extra scoop! I asked which flavor would go well with the cactus-ginger sorbet, and the waitress recommended verbena: an excellent combination of flavors. My husband ordered a chocolate, nougat, and chestnut sundae; all three flavors were equally delicious. Highly recommended.

The galette wasn't crispy, it was thick like a crepe, a bit disappointing; the crepe itself was tasty, but not cooked through, and stuck to the plate.

The ice cream shop at 4pm had incredible Peruvian ice cream, a chocolate flavor just like I'd dreamed of. At 7pm, the restaurant opened with generous galettes.

We were a group of 20 children at summer camp. Delicious flavors, we didn't get cold. Great fruity tastes. The shaded terrace was fantastic. The service was incredibly fast and efficient. Very friendly staff.

Saint-Jean Restaurant

24/06/2026: A great stopover for motorcycle touring. The hotel is well located, with easy access and secure parking for motorcycles. The owner is very friendly. The rooms are nice, with very comfortable beds and are very clean. If we're ever back in the area, we'll definitely stay at the Hotel Saint-Jean again.
07/06/2026: I highly recommend the Hotel Saint-Jean. Its location is ideal, close to everything, and there's parking. The welcome was warm, the rooms were spacious and air-conditioned, with a shower and toilet, and very clean. It was very quiet... a great place to stay, I would gladly return. Isabelle Oriol

27/08/2025: At the beginning of summer, I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant with my family. The owner was very friendly, and we enjoyed a long chat with her during our visit. The menu looked absolutely delicious. Each dish featured local ingredients. I personally enjoyed a succulent goat cheese and honey salad with seasonal vegetables and goat cheese from a producer near Vals—it was divine. In short, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Vals; it's well worth the trip.
