Bistro Poulette sur Bordeaux

"We had lunch there, and my experience at the market is very positive. It's a very popular place and, to my surprise, very tasty too. There is also seafood, cheeses and all that to proximity. We really liked it.

Sublime! Lovely atmosphere, inviting and friendly staff and, importantly, muscles were amazing!

The speciality of this restaurant in the Capucin Marchê is mussels and they are delicious, would definitely recommend. €15.90 for a large portion which is served with chips. It is very popular, so best to go early, we were there just before 12 and got a table no problem, but there was a large queue as we were leaving.

Great set up. Great food. Got some free wine courtesy of Romain. 10/10.

Non poteva mancare un pranzo al mercato di Bordeaux. Avevamo sentito giudizi lusinghieri sull'atmosfera e sulla qualità del cibo. Abbiamo scelto questo bistrot perchè volevamo mangiare pesce. Avendo qualche riserva sul crudo abbiamo optato per le cozze e, a differenza, della sera precedente in altro ristorante, non ci siamo pentiti. Le cozze erano buone e carnose. Abbiamo pagato un prezzo onesto e, se dovessimo tornare a Bordeaux, andremo ancora al Bistrot Le Poullet.

We had sought out the Marche des Capucins as we really enjoy visiting local food markets. It proved to be well worth the visit. When there we came across the Bistro Poulette which was fortunate as one thing we had wanted to eat during our holiday in Bordeaux was mussels and frites. It was lunchtime on a busy Saturday but we didn't have to wait too long before a small table became free. While small, with little space between tables, it was still big enough to accomodate our bowls of mussels, our shared plate of frites, and our drinks. The service was quick and the mussels, while small compared with what we are used to eating at home in Scotland, were served in a very tasty while wine sauce.
