Note et avis

A restaurant renowned throughout the world and there is something to be said for it. The staff is impeccably friendly. The restaurant room is magnificent. The dishes are of extraordinary finesse. What more can I say apart from thanks to the George Blanc brigade.

The very best of genuine luxury hospitality in an incredible set up. It is the people that made this stay more than an incredible and rare experience, starting with the constant presence of Mr Georges Blanc himself, and all his impressive and professional associates. Wonderful four days spent in Heaven.

Il est loin le temps du service parfait ! Le service n’est pas à la hauteur de la cuisine du Chef Blanc ! On sert l’assiette de fromage avec le café !!! Étonnant ! L’œuf meurette, les escargots et la poule de Bresse sont excellents la carte des vins est agréable sans coup de bambou Dommage que le service ne soit pas à la hauteur ! 220 euros pour 2 ! On s’attendait à mieux !

We booked a suite, with a balcony overlooking a street. The price of more than €600 for m2 counted with the mezzanine fitted out with a child's bed (not used) is not justified. The mini bar is free, very good fruit juices. The decoration is not to our taste, you have to like red, on all the walls of the room, the curtains etc... it's outdated. We had dinner at the inn. The pieces of chicken with or without morels are the thigh and the upper thigh, the fillet if it is roasted, in all cases, the price is too high as well as that of the desserts, all of a very relative quality. As for breakfast, the price is also too high but very good. Positive point, our little dog was accepted everywhere, in the room, common areas and restaurants, at the price of €25, but without bedding or bowl. Finally, the person at reception is very friendly and helpful.

Nous avons déjeuné en terrasse ! Restaurant à la décoration d’auberge. Nous avions une mise en bouche puis choisi l’emblématique volaille à la crème et ses crêpes , et la volaille rôtie accompagnée de purée de pommes de terre puis un tarte tatin accompagnée de crème bressane et une pavelova fraise rhubarbe. Nous nous sommes régalés et avons passé un agréable moment.

While the service was pleasant and the ambiance enjoyable, I was disappointed with the quality of the L'emblématique volaille de Bresse AOP with morilles. The chicken breast was rubbery, the sauce lacked flavor, and the morilles were tasteless. I had been looking forward to trying this dish, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations in terms of taste and overall quality.

21/01/2025: Magnificent menu, high quality products and iconic chef
24/12/2024: A slightly disappointing 3* dinner, let me explain... As a preamble, I never give an opinion on this type of restaurant as the design of the menus, flavors and textures is complex and the rendering is unique to each person, but here I think it deserves that I take up my pen... Aperitif: my partner orders a fruity wine, we bring her a Jurançon closer to muscat than the chamber of love mentioned to the sommelier, we don't offer her to taste it beforehand, and no alternative offer... and this will be the case throughout the meal as part of a food and wine pairing for 250 euros... I don't find this worthy of a three-star hotel which has the most beautiful wine list in France... The meal itself: beautiful presentations, however I find that the taste of the main element announced (pigeon or crab for example) is lost in a mixture of flavors and textures that is too complex if we add to that a wine that I haven't always found suited to the food, it's a bit disappointing. In terms of the different dishes: a vegetable roll with obviously a salt error (I tasted my partner's being surprised by the way too salty taste of mine, there was clearly a cooking bug), the error is- Is it excusable in a 3* with a menu at 380 euros...? That's another debate... To end up disappointed with the last dish, the venison and the mash that accompanied it were grainy and not pleasant on the tongue. In a food and wine pairing, cheese (an institution in France) should be brought automatically... this is not the case and offered half-heartedly... ("would you like to complete your meal". .. kesako ???) The predesserts and desserts are on the other hand plentiful, for my part I am not a sweet tooth, so I would have preferred a little more extensive dishes to finish with a more subtle sweet touch, even with the help of my partner we did not have not finished the desserts which we ended up finding disgusting, but it's only a question of taste... Special mention to the baker with exceptionally good bread!

La Terrasse des Etangs

15/08/2024: Perfect time, quality, quantity and service everything combines to have a very, very good time. The restaurant with a view of the ponds is spacious, the old decor has been kept which gives it an old but neat touch. The dishes are well executed and very balanced despite the previous negative opinions I have nothing to complain about it is not the starred restaurant so do not expect an exceptional level but still the mastery and accuracy of the flavors make it a very good restaurant. The team takes great care of us and it’s appreciable and the icing on the cake Mr. Georges Blanc came to greet everyone in the room 🤗
14/08/2024: Excellent meals, impeccable service and very pleasant place. Nothing to complain about. To do again.
