La Terrasse des Etangs sur Vonnas

It's fantastic in every way. Beautiful location, refined cuisine and very welcoming staff.

Excellent establishment; we saw Mr. Georges Blanc making the rounds of the tables. The service and the food were of very high quality.

Dinner in the castle's veranda overlooking one of the ponds and the sunset... idyllic! Soft lighting, discreet staff... We were greeted by Georges Blanc upon arrival, who was finishing his rounds of the tables, which was a nice touch! We ate well, but the dishes didn't particularly impress us; we missed having a wine expert to advise us on food and wine pairings. Even though we had a pleasant time, we won't be returning.

Disappointing Easter Buffet When you come to a Georges Blanc establishment, you expect much better. The buffet organization was deplorable, with a 20-minute queue to access it, right in the middle of tables of other diners. There weren't enough dishes, especially asparagus, which isn't exactly an expensive item. The dessert selection was limited, and there wasn't a single Easter chocolate to be found, even with coffee. In short, we're locals, but we're not cash cows. Disappointing!!

A huge thank you to the staff at the restaurant "La Terrasse des Étangs". Arriving without a reservation, we were very disappointed not to be able to dine at the old inn, which was closed to the public for the evening, where we had hoped to try frogs' legs (we had traveled 800 km with that very hope). The managers then directed us to La Terrasse des Étangs and delivered the frogs we wanted to this restaurant, which doesn't have them on its menu. They were, of course, excellent. Well done to everyone! Now that's what I call service, and it's not just something you find in Michelin-starred restaurants!

We were welcomed by the great Monsieur Blanc himself in a truly magnificent and magical setting, just 2 minutes from Vonnas. I wanted to surprise my husband for your birthday 🎂 We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Given the high standard of the setting and its reputation, perhaps the wine service at the table was a nice touch; we served ourselves. A few small sweets with the coffee would have been a lovely addition.
