Bodega Chez Gilles sur Bayonne

We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance, but what a surprise! My fish, a whole sea bass, was simply excellent, accompanied by mouthwatering seasonal vegetables! A true culinary orgasm. My nephew had the burger and he was also thrilled. He, who doesn't necessarily like cheese and salad, absolutely loved it. My aunt and sister ordered mussels with chorizo ​​and they enjoyed it too! I highly recommend it and I know where to eat next time I'm in Bayonne, and I've tried quite a few little restaurants in Bayonne! A pleasant surprise, a fantastic team, refined dishes served quickly. My only complaint was that the fries I grabbed while enjoying the mussels were, of course, a bit too crispy, but that's just a matter of personal preference.

We thought everything was incredible 🥰 We really enjoyed the meal, the terrace, and the atmosphere. We ordered the charcuterie board, which was very good and varied, as well as the tomato and burrata salad, which was equally delicious. We especially loved the duck breast, which was perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and welcoming; definitely a must-try in Bayonne.

Generous cuisine and attentive service

We had a wonderful evening. The restaurant is very nice, the setting is lovely, and we had a truly excellent dinner. The owner and his team gave us a particularly warm welcome; we immediately felt right at home in a super friendly atmosphere. As an added bonus, the price-quality ratio is quite reasonable. In short, a very pleasant place in Bayonne that I highly recommend!

Passing through Bayonne for work, I had lunch this Wednesday, June 3rd, 2025 with three colleagues. The welcome was excellent, with equally impressive service! The meal was also perfect, thank you!

This place is top of the chart for food in this area of France I had the Dorade Royale and the fish was cooked beautifully with a flavour I have never tasted before. The ingredients were very high-quality and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I have no complaints I wish I could come back and I probably will soon. The generous portion of free bread to mop up all of the beautiful sauce and oil was also amazing.
