The surrounding square, spacious and vibrant, transforms completely with the seasons: cultural events, temporary exhibitions, a festive atmosphere, and even ice rinks in winter. Although the interior isn't always open to the public, it's well worth a visit even just for the exterior. It's a perfect spot for taking photos, relaxing, or simply observing Parisian life. Moreover, its location is unbeatable: from here, you can easily walk to the Marais, the Seine, Notre-Dame, or wander through streets steeped in history. The nearest metro station is Hôtel de Ville (Paris Metro), served by lines 1 and 11, with direct access to the square. It doesn't feel like a "forced" tourist attraction, but rather a vibrant and functional space within the city, integrated into the daily lives of Parisians. Highly recommended for architecture and history enthusiasts, and for anyone wanting to experience the more authentic Paris, beyond the typical tourist spots.
