Cafe de Paris sur Cherbourg-Octeville

The welcome and service are warm. The cuisine offers a wonderful gastronomic experience. However, the pop music is truly annoying as it makes conversation difficult at the tables. I'm really disappointed by this, as Café de Paris is considered one of the best restaurants in Cherbourg. Why insist on filling the space with a constant stream of music?

Thank you for the very good meal. It's a shame the portions were small. And the drinks (wine, etc.) were very, very expensive.

The food is excellent, even refined. A delight! Unfortunately, the chef shouts at his team, and it can be heard throughout the entire dining room. The servers are disorganized and very noisy. They constantly drop things on the floor. PS: I was sitting in the front row. My chair was kicked a hundred times. I moved as far forward as I could, to no avail. The atmosphere, both at work and while dining, depends on the staff. Stop running around! Let the customers enjoy their meal and their families! Sebastian

We went to Cafe de Paris for a meal last night. We chose it because of its rating and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is located just under 0.5 miles from the Cherbourg marina. It is in quite a central location which is very convenience for us as we are moored up at the marina. The staff were very polite, helpful and professional. The food was fabulous. The dishes appear to be in the small side but trust me, they are big enough if you are having a 3 course meal. I must say the fish soup I had for my starter was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best. The fish dumpling for my main course was also very special. But if you are not a fish person I recommend the lamb. The desserts were beautifully presented and of course very tasty. I love watching the red wine being decanted from the bottle. If we come back to Cherbourg again I will certainly be going back to eat there again.

Excellent service, but it's surprising to see a glass of cider cost 10 euros in Normandy...

Despite the restaurant being very busy this evening, the experience was excellent from start to finish. The service provided by two people was simply outstanding: professional, attentive, and warm, without ever feeling overwhelmed. A special thank you to the waitress for her insightful wine recommendations, perfectly paired with the dishes, and for her ability to tailor the suggestions to our preferences. It truly made all the difference. A wonderful restaurant that we wholeheartedly recommend in Cherbourg!

Wonderful welcome, the daily special was delicious with its beurre blanc sauce, and the staff were pleasant. I highly recommend it. Special mention for the excellent wine list, with something for everyone. Thank you to the team.
