Nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat in the heart of Sancerre. We went here again this year. A huge selection on the menu. It is located very centrally on the square in Sancerre.

Great little stopover in the beautiful hilltop town of Sancerre at the far end of the square blue and white . Eat inside or outside on the square great food quick service friendly staff . And serve serge laloue white wine perfect 👌

Love it. Good value, good atmosphere and excellent banter from the guys serving. Best glass of Sancerre I've had in a while. I don't normally drink Rosé, but the Philippe Raimbault was excellent. We'll be back!

La Taverne du Connetable

11/07/2026: Second visit to this place and still thrilled by the quality of the food. The Croque Monsieur or the Crottin de Chavignol burger are served with salad and excellent fries. A real treat.
10/07/2026: A fantastic discovery! La Taverne Connétable is a must-visit in Sancerre. The welcome is warm, the staff is friendly and attentive. The dishes are delicious, prepared with high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and bursting with flavor. The setting is magnificent, with a convivial and authentic atmosphere that makes you want to linger over your meal. Special mention goes to the truly excellent value for money and the menu, which showcases local specialties paired with superb Sancerre wines. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We will gladly return on our next visit!
