Located in the heart of Sancerre, this cafe offers plenty of outdoor seating in the square in front of the building, in addition to indoor seating. It's always bustling with customers. Although it's a cafe, they have a wide variety of ice cream, ice cream desserts, and shakes. They also serve alcohol and light meals at reasonable prices. The staff are all friendly and create a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Just had a nice drink, and the service and atmosphere were quite pleasant and good. It was nicely situated on the village square. So, it's a top spot for a drink!

Excellent value for money, the croques are very delicious, as are the desserts, especially the crème brûlée 😋 You can go there without hesitation!

1 p.m. The terrace is packed. Tourists and regulars alike. Simple cuisine at reasonable prices! The service is outstanding: all the servers are smiling, and they offer a kind word with every course, even though the restaurant is busy. It's so rare in restaurants these days!

La Taverne du Connetable

04/10/2026: If you come in large numbers (between 10 and 15 already), it will be a very, very, very long wait, and it's a shame the organization is so flawed every time. That's why we only come rarely, because every time... the reason is the same: "We're sorry, but someone didn't come to the kitchen this morning." Every single time... we find it hard to believe after the fourth time. It's a shame because it could be a really nice place.
03/10/2026: A very nice place. Excellent value for money. A very nice menu and a super welcome. Above all, remember to book!
