A very cozy cat café, the food is good, the host is very friendly, and the cats are adorable.

Absolutely adorable! Well-kept, clean, friendly owner that also speaks English. The cats are friendly, one even playful and curious!

First of all, a huge thank you for the Persian cookie, which brought back a taste of my home country 🇮🇷, and above all, thank you for the warm and gentle welcome. My British partner, who made the trip to discover this café, was delighted and has already planned to return, as the welcome and the cats were fantastic (for those we didn't see, that was fine; the others let us pet them between naps since we gave them the option to let us know if they were okay with it). Thank you, Clément, for your availability and especially for the peaceful atmosphere; it's a pleasure to relax and simply enjoy the moment and whisper in an already noisy world. For those who criticize the prices, we found them very reasonable considering everything is made on-site, and we know that the profits also go towards the care of the cats 🐱. Such a beautiful ethos will definitely bring us back! ♥️

Second time in Besançon, second time visiting Café des Félins, this time for my birthday. The place is very charming, the owner is kind and welcoming, you feel like you're entering a truly safe space, it's honestly incredibly soothing! The cats are adorable. As some others have mentioned, cats are independent animals; they won't always come to play or interact with the customers, but that's perfectly normal, and their mere presence brings a great sense of comfort and calm to the place. I had a peach diabolo and a vanilla ice cream with whipped cream—it was delicious! I can't wait to go back sometime soon 😊

Everything was perfect! I came with my sister and we loved it! The cookies and drinks are excellent, the portions are very generous, I highly recommend it! The cats are in a truly healthy and healthy environment!

We highly recommend a visit to this peaceful, calm, and welcoming place. The experience was incredible, and the matcha cookies are delicious! We were very surprised by how clean the place is, considering cats live there every day—not even a single hair on the floor! (But between us, even if there is some hair, it's perfectly normal; after all, they're cats 😸)

The cats are incredibly friendly, and you can really see that the manager adores them. We ate very generous salads, a real treat! The place is truly charming, and the peace and quiet are so wonderful; it's fantastic to find a place that respects animals so much. Thank you for this lovely experience.

A fantastic spot in Besançon if you're a cat lover! The gentleman who runs this little cat café is incredibly kind. 🫶🏼 You can really see his love for his animals. The atmosphere is relaxing, gentle, and peaceful, with a wide selection of homemade treats and drinks—it's exceptional! Such adorable little faces! 😻 We'll be back! 🤍

Must-visit for Bensançon! Location: Staff good with french and english too. Arrived with no notice or reservation. Despite having severe hay fevere, oral allergy syndrome, and a (mild) pet allergy, it was so clean that I had absolutely zero issues in here. Enter with discretion though. Extremely delightful atmosphere. Quiet, calm, warm, and welcoming. Exactly what the owner is going for. Perfect on a rainy day. Lots of warnings before you enter, explaining that the owner is the soul worker here. Signs also explain how to treat the cats. To a small extent this felt unwelcoming, however I completely understand and respect the reason for all the signage, so it doesnt affect my score. Due to the rules about being quiet inside, the atmosphere is perfect for escaping the busy streets and this cafe was less full than others around here, which was nice. This location is perfect for peoplewihth autism or ADHD who may be overwhelmed at times by the loud environment inside. Although obviously its important to be quiet and respectful yourself too. Owner cleaned the water from my raincoat immediately and directed me politely to the wifi passé and brought me a serviette when asked. He is very professional and did a good job at appearing attentive and fast, without being overbearing or making the café experience feel rushed. I was happy to sit. Food & drink Hot drinks are around 5-6 euros, cookies are 4 euros each. I think this is a reasobale price and would happily return here regularly if I was a local. 10 euros (each) for a relaxing sit-down. Alternative milks were offered! Panda hot chocolate was excellent. Very sweet, with a thick mouth feel but not gritty. Not sure if it is made with powder or not, but i worked as a barista on and off for around 7 years and either way, this is a nicely prepared hot chocolate. Latte served in café latte style and was quite good, served with a biscoff biscuit and sugar. No art on top but thats okay. Coffee connesseur I came here with liked it and called it decent (high praise). Rum and raisin cookie was fluffy, very moist and mildly sweet. Raising were well caramelised and tender. Siberian cookie was more baked, sloghtly subtly crunchy around the edge and soft in the centre, with cranberry filling. Slightly sweeter than the rum and raisin one. Burgers and other food are quite expensive, but the owner explained that running costs are very high here. Only a couple of small critiques, that I think could improve things here. Menu's are paper and a little old. Owner needs to buy cases for the menus or have them done in hard back. Binders might match the aesthetic nicely. Clock on wall is a nice touch but it isnt correct. Needs batteries. Different presentation on the latte could be nice as it was served in a café latte style. Also the owner is clearly under a lot of pressure but is handling it very very well. Leaving here feeling much less overwhelmed than outside, warmed up and dry. A lovely place to be. Very firm 5/5 would highly recommend as a must-visit for anyone in Bensançon Be responsible with the cats and use hand soap!!!
