While the restaurant is called "La Cantine du Musée," a friendly place, I would prefer to describe it as "the gourmets' canteen." It's flawless: subtle, balanced dishes, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere. In my opinion, a true gem in Bayonne!

Three choices for the starter, main course, and dessert. Everything was delicious! 🤤 The dishes were beautifully presented, refined, and original. 😍 The service and staff were top-notch. We discovered this restaurant after our visit to the museum, and it was a delightful surprise. The restaurant offers several set menus: starter + main course + dessert, starter + main course, or main course + dessert. The dishes change regularly, which makes you want to come back to discover new flavors. During our visit, we started with a watermelon gazpacho, incredibly refreshing and perfect for a summer day. For our main course, we enjoyed a fillet of hake with eggplant caviar, a delicate and very successful combination of flavors. To finish, the citrus cheesecake was simply magnificent: light, indulgent, and perfectly balanced. The quality of the dishes is remarkable. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are perfectly harmonized, and each dish is prepared with great care. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We went in the summer, and despite the heat outside, it was very comfortable inside. The music creates a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. The staff is very welcoming, smiling, and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant, whether for a meal with family, friends, or as a couple.

Overall, a very good experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was pleasant, and the value for money was excellent, although the welcome could have been warmer. My only slight complaint was the cleanliness of the restrooms, which I've seen better.
