Amazing garden, the Miro labyrinth is simply superlative as well as the Giacometti courtyard and the permanent collection. A must if you are in the area

Beautiful place, beautiful works but limited number of them. Free parking. Not far from the village of St Paul de Vence.

An absolutely magnificent museum with a breathtaking collection: numerous works by Miró and Giacometti, but also Braque, Chagall, Léger, Soulages, Arp, Bonnard, Garouste, and more. The setting is lush and green, and the visit is just as enjoyable indoors as strolling through the gardens, which are full of delightful surprises. An unforgettable visit that I highly recommend.

If there's a place where the boundary between artwork, architectural container, and natural landscape dissolves completely, it's the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. It's not just a museum, but a totalizing sensory experience, born from the extraordinary vision of Aimé and Marguerite Maeght, together with architect Josep Lluís Sert. The transition between the interior rooms and the gardens is fluid and undulating; there's never the feeling of oppression typical of certain traditional museums. The maritime pines, the chirping of cicadas, and the trickling of water in the fountains are as much a part of the exhibition as the paintings on the walls. The exhibition paths are meticulously designed, allowing visitors to isolate themselves and contemplate each work in the silence and respect it deserves. The Fondation Maeght is a must-see for anyone who loves art and architecture. A magical place where human ingenuity and the beauty of the French Riviera have found a perfect balance.

A must-see. The artworks inside, but also the architecture and the garden. The best part: the terrace restaurant (Sous les pins de la maison Les agitateurs). The homemade cuisine is delicious and the service impeccable. So rare in museums.

16/06/2026: One of the most special and memorable stays my wife and I have ever had the opportunity to experience. The grounds, the setting, the food, the room, I could go on and on as everything was exceptional. Every interaction we had with staff was warm and kind. We loved our time and can’t wait to come back!

03/06/2026: Unique places with a friendly welcome, waiting to be discovered.
01/06/2026: Once the initial apprehension of exiting onto a highway and the descent had passed, we were greeted with wonder by a peaceful, almost wild garden, and turning our heads, we were treated to a breathtaking view of the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. We sat down at an outdoor table and were welcomed by a very friendly, if somewhat gruff, local man from Nice, with whom we had a wonderful time. The home-style cooking was equally impressive, with generous and delicious portions. A special mention goes to the smoked trout, a house specialty, which is incredible and absolutely worth trying!
