Café Jean sur Roubaix

We were looking for an authentic experience and we found it: the place, the friendly atmosphere, and the delicious, authentic cuisine. The warm welcome was the icing on the cake; we felt right at home. Thank you to the owner for creating such a wonderful, human atmosphere and for sharing such lovely conversations. We will be back!

Passing through Roubaix, the reviews led us to this little restaurant – what a great idea! The owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the menu featured typical Northern dishes (among others) made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! A little bistro just the way we like them.

A fantastic place to recover after our Paris-Roubaix race. Excellent Carbonnade (the best in the world) and a good Welsh rarebit (the best in the world) according to Jean. A lovely, authentic spot to eat local specialties.

A small brasserie in Roubaix, with a lovely, impromptu sunny terrace. The chicken with Maroilles cheese was a generous portion, and the black cod with butter was delicious! Not to mention the homemade fries and mayonnaise. I highly recommend this restaurant with its very friendly staff.

Excellent service. The Welsh rarebit was superb, but I was disappointed not to see the majorette parade. Highly recommended.

A wonderful discovery! Make time to visit places like this, they're becoming increasingly rare! Nothing is prefabricated, everything is warm and welcoming. A Welsh rarebit with a real thick slice of ham and homemade fries! I had a great time.

Passing through the north, we wanted a place to eat some good local specialties. We certainly found it! The owner, Amrane, has a contagious good humor and goes out of his way to ensure his customers are happy. A very good place!

Excellent food, the soup was a real treat…and the chicken with Maroilles cheese was superb. The welcome and service were top-notch.
