Café Les Platanes sur L'Ile-Rousse

We were here on the last day of our three weeks in Corsica and had a lovely sunny afternoon. It was especially nice sitting under the trees in the shade; the waiter was very, very friendly, and the drinks arrived very quickly. Looking around the square, you can see that the three waiters have a lot of guests to serve in 35-degree heat (in the shade), and things can certainly move a little slower on vacation. No one ever died from waiting. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Brilliant place in the heart of Isula Rossa (l'île Rousse). Thirty or more flavours of gelato, excellent coffee and good service. Sat here several days in a row and enjoyed life pass by. Just be carefull when you order an ice-cream dessert. They are enormous, so don't show up on a full stomach. 😜

For the past three years, we've been loyal customers and are always greeted with a smile. The prices are affordable, unlike on the French Riviera! Thank you to our waiter Hugo for his kindness and skill! I highly recommend it.

I've loved coming here for a drink and an ice cream for years, but I was very disappointed this year. We wanted a drink because we were very thirsty, and while we were waiting, we wanted to choose an ice cream. I asked the waitress for a menu so we could choose, and she haughtily replied that she wasn't going to make ten trips for us (there were very few people on the terrace at that time). Okay, well, we'll just have one drink and no ice cream since we can't make her come back multiple times. Frankly, I'm very disappointed. I hope it will be better next year.

We stop by every holiday for an ice cream sundae and a cocktail and are never disappointed 👌

A waiter of rare and delightful efficiency. It's been a long time since I've seen such a skilled bartender capable of efficiently managing a terrace with a good hundred customers. Well done, young man! You'll rarely be recognized by the clientele who still manage to say, "It's a bit slow this morning," but I've seen and I admire your work. Beyond the service, the value for money is also excellent. The coffee is good, as are the fruit juice and pastries.

We stopped for some artisanal gelato (they sell the same gelato as a gelateria on the main street). The gelato, for those accustomed to eating good gelato, isn't exactly artisanal, but rather very sugary and with artificial flavors. Overall, it's okay if you're expecting "normal" and commercial gelato. Not for those who want gelato with authentic flavors. The wafer wasn't crispy at all.

The ice cream is truly excellent, no complaints there. However, the service is unfortunately very disappointing. The waiter was very unpleasant. A little more friendliness and a smile would have made all the difference.
